SSU stopped up a channel of illegal migrants trafficking to EU in Transcarpathia

The officers of SSU liquidated a criminal group creating illegal channel of foreigners’ trafficking to the countries of European Union.

On November 23, SSU officers stopped a car with members of criminal group near Perechyn. There were four citizens of Palestine without document inside the car. As it was established in the course of investigation, foreigners arrived to Transcarpathia from Kyiv in order to get illegally to the countries of EU.

Soon three more persons were caught, citizens of Uzhgorod, previously convicted for analogous crimes. Elaborating corresponding plan, the members of criminal group provided transportation, residence, nourishment and deliver of foreigners to border zone and their trafficking through the state border.

SSU Investigation Department in Transcarpathian region instituted a criminal case on the signs of crime commitment foreseen by Part 2 Article 332 of Criminal Code of Ukraine as to criminals who are under arrest at the present moment.

Even border guards helping illegal migrants are imprisoned for two years in Transcarpathia

A sentence of Vynohradovo Court of Transcarpathian region came into force concerning the criminal case instituted by Investigation Department of SSU as to a former border guard who participated in trafficking of citizens of Moldova through Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

In March 2009, 33-year-old officer of Mukachevo Border Detachment acquainted with Moldavians being on duty who were detained for attempt on illegal cross of the border.

They reached agreement on organization of border cross to Hungarian Republic for € 1 thousand.

In April illegal migrants and organizer of a deal were arrested by officers of SSU. The violators were convicted to be guilty by the court sentence in realizing the crime foreseen by Part 1 Article 332 of Crime Code of Ukraine and penalty was inflicted in the form of imprisonment for the term of two years.

Six residents of Chechnya and four Moldavians tried to cross Ukrainian border illegally

The officers of SBSU caught 10 illegal migrants who were trying to cross illegally the border avoiding the check point. Five men and 12-year-old boy made their way from Ukraine to Poland. The violators were detected in the forest by detail of BS “Smilnytsya”, Lviv region. Illegal migrants were Russians, residents of Chechnya. The foreigners confessed that because of difficult financial conditions they planned to get to the countries of European Union by illegal way.  Two taxi drivers agreed to lift them to the border and they paid €100 for this service.

In Transcarpathian region local people helped to catch four illegal migrants from Moldova. Border guards of BD “Novoselytsya” were informed about appearance of the group of unknown persons. Soon a detail with a service dog caught uninvited guests 800 m before the line of the state border.

Tourists from Moldova intended to avoid the check point in Transcarpathia

The officers of State Border Service in Transcarpathia apprehended four trespassers 800 meters before the line of the state border.

They were citizens of Moldova. They tried to cross illegally the border in Transcarpathian region avoiding the check point. As it was established later, these were local people who helped to detain four illegal migrants from Moldova. The border guards of border post “Novoselytsya” were informed about the group of unfamiliar persons. Soon detail with a searching dog caught uninvited guests 800 m before the state border.

Accommodation Centre for keeping illegal migrants is proposed to be built in Chop

 On November 23, a meeting took place in Chop with participation of officials of institutions, enterprises and organizations of the town, chairmen of municipal public organization, deputies, chairmen of permanent deputy commissions, local residents.

 The topic of discussion was a question on TAC building for illegal migrants on the territory of Chop Border Detachment. Aiming at decision-making which would satisfy local society, authoritative and respectful persons were invited to participate there. The majority of presented persons at the meeting on discussion of the present problem expressed their opinion concerning carrying over the centre outside the town. As it is known, this topic is not a new one for the residents of our region, as in the end of the year 2008 due to the efforts of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and deputies of Transcarpathian Regional Council it was possible to close a similar centre in v.Pavshyno. At that time, Transcarpathians welcomed that very important event. In May 2010, Chop Local Council sent an appeal to President of Ukraine and Cabinet of Ministers about non-admission of TAC opening on the territory of Transcarpathia. Supporting Mukachevo people in such a way the village Dercen became under threat.  

Commander of Chop Border Detachment Sambor Y.A. “…at the present moment there is already a similar centre, it is said about its closing aiming at building of a modern premise which will correspond to European standards.  Thus, European funds will be attracted on this purpose. The premises are planned to be placed on the territory of Border Detachment. It will be possible to keep 66 persons from among illegal migrants…”

The mayor Tsar G.V. assured the participators that position of society is principle for her: “I will act in a direction you show me.”

It should be pointed that opening of existed TAC took place already in 2005. Practically lobby decision was made on its placement and building at that time without any agreement with society. Now, on initiative of the mayor Tsar G.V., problem is discussed with participation of local public.

The head doctor of Uzhgorod District Sanitary-Epidemiologic Station Parada I.I. remembered about cases on appearance of some extrinsic for us diseases happened in 2005 which were connected with keeping illegal migrants on the territory of border detachment.

Representative of education sphere also did not speak well for the building connected their express with location of secondary school nearby the unit.  

 On Friday November 26, an open day will take place at Border Unit with the aim to acquaint public and deputies of Local Council with the existing centre on keeping illegal migrants and preliminary planned place for centre location.

Dog of the border guards slowed down illegal migrants nearby the very border in Transcarpathia

At about 3 a.m. detail of border post “Onokovtsy” stopped two men with the help of service dog 100 m before the border. The officers found documents not far from the place of detention which were thrown by the detainees. Illegal migrants were 20 and 31-year-old citizens of Georgia. They arrived to Ukraine through airport “Dnepropetrovsk”. They did not want to cross the border illegally using the map.

Two Moldavians were caught with the help of local residents who informed border guards of border post “Kamyanytsya” about strangers. As it was cleared out, 23 and 39-year-old Moldavians also arrived to Ukraine officially. They confessed that they were in the search of better life conditions and wanted to get to Italy.

SMVI detained Skoda Octavia with illegal migrants from Palestine

 Department of State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate (SMVI) of Perechyn district received operative information about movement of the car Skoda Octavia with illegal migrants. During some hours inspectors of SMVI were stopping all the cars of this brand and only in the evening this very car was stopped.

The driver was alone in the car, he showed his documents to workers of SMVI and opened the boot where nothing suspicious was. But inspector looked once more inside the car where he suddenly noticed four adult men lying on the floor. As it was established they were citizens of Palestine. Having no documents they crossed illegally borders of some countries and intended to get to Europe.

The smuggler and detained illegal migrants were taken to Chop Border Detachment.

Africans were detained in Lviv being sent down from Kharkiv University

Three citizens of Nigeria were apprehended in Lviv by the officers of Border Service and police in the frames of activities against so-called student channel of illegal migration. Foreigners violated the rights on stay in Ukraine. Africans being of the age from 21 to 30 arrived for studies to the city of Kharkiv to one of the higher establishments from which they were sent down. After that they did not hurry up to leave the territory of our state and passed to illegal status.

At the present moment papers on administrative infringement are drawn up concerning the detainees. The further destiny of Nigerians will be decided by the court. It should be marked that attempts of illegal cross of our state with countries of European Union done by the foreigners who arrived to Ukraine were not single ones.

Afghani and Moldavian were apprehended in “Boryspil” with British and Romanian passports

Two foreigners travelling with forged passports were apprehended in the airport “Boryspil”. Both violators posed as citizen of other states, especially a passenger checking in for the flight to Paris who showed a passport of the citizen of Romania for control. The officers of SBS established that pages with constituent data in the document were changed. After that violator confessed that he was 23-year-old Moldavian. According to his words, he bought this document from an unknown man because he wanted to be employed in France.

Another breaker made his way to Canada. Ukrainian border guards cleared out that passenger of the flight “Kyiv-Toronto” was not a citizen of Great Britain: traveler’s passport was forged. After revelation the man confessed that in reality he was 56-year-old citizen of Afghanistan. At the present moment Ukrainian law enforcement agents identify detained foreigners.

Mukachevo inhabitant sheltered 13 illegal migrants from Africa and Asia

The foreigners in the age of 16 to 65 were hiding in a private house in Mukachevo having no any documents.

The border guards managed preliminary to establish that two of them were citizens of Pakistan, four persons from Afghanistan and the rest seven men were from Somalia. Our country fellow took care of them. At the present moment, law enforcement agents carry out investigation on how illegal migrants got to Ukraine and what persons participated in organization of channel.

It should be remarked that during the last time cases on detention of illegal migrants, especially citizens of Afghanistan and Somalia, became more often.

The similar situation in this very season arises every year, as foreigners try to be in time reaching the countries of European Union before the onset of cold weather.
