Afghans paid $50 000 to get to EU countries

Border guards of Chop Detachment and inspectors of State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate detected a group of unknown persons nearby the border while carrying out joint control and regimen activities. Detainees could not present documents identifying their personality on border guards’ demand, but they reported that they were the citizens of Afghanistan. There was a man, two women and three children in the group – the boy of 2007 DOB and two girls of 2009 and 2012. In the course of the interview, it was learned that they made their way to EU countries in the search of better life conditions. They also told that they paid $50000 for their trip.

Besides, border guards of BS “Uzhgorod” apprehended two more illegal migrants at night. One of the violators making his way to Slovakia was stopped after alarm system went off in the area of BS “Onokivtsi”. The men informed that he was the citizen of Syria. The citizen of Georgia became the other “guest” of the border guards, who intended to cross the border without documents avoiding the check point.

All detainees were delivered to border subdivisions to process administrative and procedural documents. Decision on responsibility before the law and their future destiny will be defined by the court.
