SSU of Transcarpathia unmasked the activity of criminal grouping

The workers of SSU in Transcarpathian region unmasked and stopped the activity of international organized criminal grouping who smuggled the citizens of Afghanistan to European countries.

On June 4, the SSU officers together with Chop border guards detained two citizens of Ukraine who intended to smuggle 4 citizens of Afghanistan(two adults and two children) through Ukrainian-Slovakian state border. The same day ASSU inspectors instituted a criminal case against criminals in accordance with Part 2 Article 332 of Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine committed as to preliminary deal by the group of persons).

On June 8, SSU officers apprehended four more citizens of Afghanistan in one of the houses of the village Dubrynychi, Perechyn district. As it was established illegal migrants were hidden temporarily by a local inhabitant in his own house. As to malefactor the inspectors of SSU instituted a criminal case in accordance with Part 2 Article 332 of Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On June 12, four more Afghanis were caught in Perechyn district. It was clarified that at first they were taken by car from Kyiv to Lvov, and then they were delivered to Transcarpathia.

In the result of joint actions with State Border Service the SSU workers detained 2 Afghanis in the private house in Zhytomyr who were planning to get to EU. The same day it was succeeded to find the traces of organizer of transnational channel of illegal smuggling of migrants. It was citizen of Afghanistan who had accomplice – citizen of Ukraine. Both criminals were arrested in Kyiv.

On June19, a criminal case was instituted against Afghani citizen and his accomplice in accordance with Part 3 Article 332 of Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the present moment the organizer of transnational channel of illegal smuggling of migrants is under arrest. The investigation goes on.
