At about 8 a.m. 5 Georgian illegal migrants were detected nearby the village Volosynka, Velykyi Bereznyi district. Senior sergeant of police in the course of joint service with the border guards stopped two taxi cars to check. There were five citizens of Georgia inside the car having no any documents. Their age was from 24 to 40 years old. The carrier and detained illegal migrants were handed to Chop Border Detachment. A question is decided about institution of criminal case according to the signs of crime foreseen by Part 1 Article 332 CC of Ukraine – illegal smuggling of persons through he state border of Ukraine.

In the course of “Migrant” operation implementation, policemen detected and apprehended three illegal migrants without documents in Perechyn district who named themselves the citizens of Moldova. The age of detainees was 17-18 years old. All of them were handed to department of border service.

During the last week staff of Western Regional Administration apprehended in 14 cases 24 illegal migrants in Uzhgorod Border Detachment. 12 instructions of law enforcement agents, 5 forged, 21 invalid documents were detected in the course of passport control.

Under age foreigner-travelers being looked by their parents and police were detained by detail of traffic police in Uzhgorod. Joint patrolling of police and border guards in the areas of transport permits to fight against illegal migration effectively. Only in the course of the present year joint actions of traffic police and Border Detachments at the southwest borders of the state allowed to detect more than 100 foreigners who intended to cross state border illegally in the direction of the countries of European Union. Illegal cross of the state border in the conditions of operation of Agreement between European Union and Ukraine about Readmission not only undermine image of the government but also effects considerably the economy due to necessity to accept the foreigners at its territory and also to expel them for the expenses of the government.

The peculiarity of the current year is sufficient increase in the number of CIS citizens who intend to get to Slovakia and Hungary in circumvention of the demands of European Union.

However, till the present day all illegal migrants were adult, and on arrival of the train from Odessa – Uzhgorod two minors were apprehended at the platform of the railway station who asked the railway worker about the way to the state border.

Inspectors of Patrol Police Service and inspector of border service were surprised by the fact when the underage travelers reported about their place of residence in one of the neighboring states. They came here to get to Slovakia. Correspondingly, no documents except the train tickets till the station of Uzhgorod they had.

Delivering children, policemen asked to check the surnames, name and place of residence of “foreign tourists” the border guards of the neighboring state. The children were already looked for at their country of origin by policemen and parents. After receiving the message, they became calm. The travelers are alive, healthy and thanks to inspectors of Patrol service the relatives were informed on the phone about children’s adventures. The relatives were invited to take their children home. However, children’s stay on the territory of the state without corresponding documents foresees administrative responsibility. Thus, parents will have to pay a penalty.

At the present moment Traffic Police carries out the check of the circumstances on the underage migrants’ arrival. A system of measures will be proposed on the basis of the conclusions as to incidents of such type not to be happened again.

Border guards of BS “Uzhgorod” detained two citizens of Chechnya at one of Uzhgorod hotels. In the course of interview, detainees confessed in their intentions to get to EU countries by illegal way.

In the area of BS “Yablonkova” border guards suppressed attempt of smuggling activity. Two Ukrainians were detained with six boxes of cigarettes. The signs of illegal cross of the Ukrainian-Romanian border were also detected.

Only for the last day the border guards of western borders detained 14 violators of legislation on border issues.

At about 6 p.m. in the area of border service “Luzhanka” of Mukachevo Border Detachment (Ukrainian-Hungarian area) unfamiliar man was detained during the check of information received from a local resident border detail with the help of a service dog less than for 30 minutes in the distance about 500 m before the line of Ukrainian-Hungarian border. In the course of undertaking filtration-checking measures it was clarified that detained person was a citizen of Georgia who intended to cross the border in order to get to the countries of European Union.

The officers of BS « Dergachi » in Kharkiv region detained a citizen from western African country Côte d’Ivoire. The man was walking from Russian settlement to Ukrainian one avoiding the check point. Detection of the violator happened with the help of thermal imager in the distance of 600 m from the border line. There was a note in the visa of 22-year-old African about the term of it to be terminated this very day and there was no any note about his entering Russian Federation. His footsteps also testifyied about the trespass of the border which were found on the control line by the border guards. Documents were drafted as to the African about administrative responsibility for the illegal cross of the border. The refugee is arrested till the decision of the court.

Four illegal migrants were apprehended by the border guards of BS “Velykyi Bereznyi”. At about 6 a.m. border patrol got information about observing three unfamiliar silhouettes with the help of night vision device who were moving towards the state border. Administrative-operative group that organized the search started at once in the result of which 800 m before the state border a group of four under age citizens of Georgia without any documents was detected.

During the interview with detainees it was learnt that men intended to cross Ukrainian-Slovakian border and get illegally to the countries of European Union. At the present moment detainees are in TDC of Chop Border Detachment till establishment of circumstances of the infringement of the law.

19-year-old Portuguese knocking about Ukrainian-Russian border was detained by the border guards of BS « Dergachi » of Kharkiv Detachment. The district inspector of BS learned from a local resident about seeing unfamiliar person not far away. The reaction group arrived at once at a specified place and caught a young boy 200m before the state border. This boy was the citizen of Portugal. During the interview it was established that the boy arrived to Russia in May 2010. After his one-time visa finished he decided on his friends’ advice first to get to Ukraine and then fly to Portugal through the airport Boryspil. The boy reached the border by taxi and crossed it on foot. At the present moment the detainee is at a special premise till his case will be considered in the court. The most likely outcome of this case is deportation of the detainee back to his country of origin.

Inspectors of Mukachevo State Patrol Service apprehended Somali migrants in the area of the highway Kyiv-Chop. A car was speeding sideward of Uzhgorod. The law enforcement agents stopped the car. When it stopped the workers of Traffic Inspection asked a driver to show his documents to check. The policemen also paid attention to three passengers sitting on the back seats of the car who looked suspiciously.  As it was cleared out, the passengers arrived to Transcarpathia from Somalia. They stayed on the territory of Ukraine without any documents. At the present moment detained illegal migrants are handed to Mukachevo Border Detachment, and vehicle the migrants were transported on was delivered to penalty site.
