The other day sentence of Uzhgorod Local District Court came into effect concerning the citizen of Vietnam N. who is involved in organization of illegal transportation of inhabitants from south-eastern Asian countries to European Union through the territory of Ukraine.
The officers of SSU in Transcarpathian region ascertained some persons from among Ukrainians including the residents of Transcarpathia who arranged the channel of “illegal” business – the task consisted in transportation of citizens of Vietnam and China through Russian-Ukrainian border with following delivery to Slovakian Republic. Afterwards their accomplice N. was also established. In addition, the foreign woman organized temporary residence for illegal migrants in the city of Kyiv and in the region. A police officer was also involved in a deal who “secured” the smuggling of foreigners accompanying them from Lviv region to Transcarpathia.
According to the results of case consideration which was investigated by ASSUU department, the citizen of Vietnam is convicted in commissions foreseen by Part 1 Article 255 (creation of crime organization aiming at grave crime preparation and also guidance of such organization) and Part 2 Article 332 (organization of illegal transportation of persons through state border of Ukraine) of Crime Code of Ukraine and she is sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of means of crime commission and postponement of sentence execution through Article 75 of CC of Ukraine for the period of 3 years. Investigation concerning other members of organized criminal group is continued.
