EU allotted 30 million EUR for illegal migrants, Transcarpathia will get something of it

European Union (EU) allotted 30 million EUR for solution of problems as to illegal migrants in Ukraine, strengthening of national policy in the field of migration as well as building of seven centres for temporary placement and two centres for keeping migrants during future 2,5 years… in the context of Agreement on Readmission between Ukraine and EU.

The goal of the project is to render support in Ukrainein projecting, creation, provision of the necessary facilities and allotment of equipment for THF and TDF for illegal migrants in accordance with European standards.

Agreement as to creation THF, as planned, will be signed up in: Pavlovychi (Lviv region), Smylnytsi (Lviv region), Uzhgorod (Transcarpathian region), Velykyi Bereznyi (Transcarpathian region), Solotvyno (Transcarpathian region), Sopyche (Sumy region), Krasnodone (Luhansk region). Centres for keeping migrants are planned to be built in Zhdanovka (Donetsk region) and Martynovskyi (Nikolaev region). The building of the centres for temporary holding is expected to be started in autumn 2011 and will finish in spring 2014.

EU mission in Ukraine and State Border Service of Ukraine opened the building of the first THF in the village of Sopych, Sumy region.
