Part of student-foreigners in Ukraine is illegal migrants, who are in the process of refugee status granting.

It was reported at the press conference of the executive officers of Mukachevo and Chop Detachments. After detention illegal migrants are delivered to Detention Centre for 3 days in the course of which all documents are prepared. Refugee status is issued by Migration Service and not by the border guards, it is said that this status people may obtain by years: after receiving rejection they appeal against the court’s decision. During this time they work, study, they are sponsored by relatives.
