On March 16, the meeting on issues of illegal migration took place in the Head Department of SMS of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. The head of Migration Service I.Mykhailyshyn, his first deputy O.Berdar, representatives of SSU in the region, of Chop and Mukachevo Border Detachments, the staff of Head Administration of National Police participated in the event. The problems of services cooperation as to control strengthening over the foreign citizens’ stay within the region territory and information exchange on this point were discussed. The head of Migration service marked a good level of cooperation organized in Transcarpathia in the process of joint preventive actions realization. Last year 258 illegal migrants were revealed, 500 foreign citizens were called to administrative responsibility for violated rules of stay in Ukraine. In the course of the meeting it was agreed to perform joint verification of places, where foreign citizens and stateless persons could stay, legal basis of their stay, introduce a workup within border areas of the reagion aiming to detect the stable illegal migrants’ transit channels.
