Illegal migrants from Afghanistan were caught at Slovakian border

A group of illegal migrants from Afghanistan was apprehended at Ukrainian – Slovakian border. Local people informed the soldiers of Chop Border Detachment about appearance of the foreigners nearby the state border. The detail of BS “Novoselytsya” followed them at once. Simultaneously Slovakian colleagues were informed about coming of uninvited “guests”. As a result, Ukrainian law enforcement agents caught one Afghan man. The border guards of Slovakian police detained four more Afghanis and one Ukrainian man guiding illegal migrants. At the present moment border guards of both countries carry out joint investigation on the circumstances of the infringement of the law.

Ten illegal migrants “settled” nearby the border on Slovakia

A group of ten illegal migrants was detained by the officers of BS “Knyagynya” in Transcarpathian region. The foreigners were hiding in the forest three km before the border on Slovakia. They had a tent, food and warm clothes.

District inspector of border service came across their camping during his patrolling. Soon a reaction group arrived at that place, which delivered “travelers” to subdivision. A group of illegal migrants was international. Seven detainees were citizens of Afghanistan, two were from Somalia, and one more was from Pakistan.

The officers of State Border Service of Ukraine are learning how illegal migrants could travel to Ukrainian – Slovakian border and who helped them in it.

Transcarpathian AFOC “caught” a great channel of smuggling of illegal migrants

Officers of Administration on Fight against Organized Criminality (AFOA) of MOI of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region unmasked a criminal group dealing with smuggling of illegal migrants. This group was comprised of five persons, namely three citizens of Ukraine and two men from Armenia. It was established that participators of criminal group organized smuggling of illegal migrants through territory of Ukraine to the countries of Eastern Europe, namely to Slovakia and Hungary.

So, on September 17 in the town of Uzhgorod AFOC detained five under aged citizens of Somalia without any documents and right to stay on the territory of Ukraine.  At the same time three members of the criminal group were apprehended being engaged in organization of concealment and smuggling of mentioned group of illegal migrants through the state border of Ukraine. Apprehension of the following person was also carried out by law enforcement agents: a woman that hided illegal migrants in her house and a private taxi driver who was taking “clients” to the place of destination. 

Illegal migrants were handed to Chop Border Detachment.

In accordance with the present fact, Public Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region commenced a criminal case (as to part 2 Article 332 of crime Code of Ukraine). Sanction of that Article foresees imprisonment up to seven years.

Somali refugees tried to cross the border by taxi

On September 17, 5 citizens of Somalia were apprehended having no documents in the course of realization of operative information by operative-researching department of Mukachevo Detachment in the area of BS “Vilok” guarding Ukrainian-Hungarian border together with Transcarpathian International Department AFOC HAMOI. They took a taxi aiming at going to Uzhgorod. The taxi driver was also detained. At the present moment filtration activities are carried out.

A group of illegal migrants from different countries was detained at Ukrainian-Slovakian border

A group of illegal migrants was apprehended by the border guards of BS “Stuzhytsya” in Transcarpathian region. At first, one of details stopped one Afghani man and one Palestinian one almost on the border line. Ukrainian law enforcement agents informed Slovakian colleagues about trespassers and started to look for other illegal migrants. Soon border guards detected and detained half a kilometer before the border three more foreigners, two of them were citizens of Afghanistan, and the third one was Pakistani. A little later, it was informed from the neighboring side that one more member of this group was caught – the citizen of Somalia.

At the present moment border guards clarify how and where such an international group has been formed. Examination of the case on trespass is going to be carried out jointly by Ukrainian and Slovakian border guards.

A woman-traveler with “split personality” was apprehended in Boryspil

Border guards detained a woman in the airport “Boryspil” having two passports and tickets for two flights. “Splitting” the traveler was trying to cross illegally the border. The citizen of Syria was registered to the flight “Kyiv – Istanbul” with her real document. Soon she tried to board another plane that was going to fly from Kyiv to Amsterdam. She presented another’s passport of the citizen of Belgium. The woman was apprehended. The measure of her responsibility will be decided by the court.

Generally, during the last day border guards detained three persons with strange passports and two persons with forged ones.

On the final way to the border Georgian illegal migrants burned down documents and map

Two men trying to get illegal to Romania were detained in Chernivtsi region. Border detail stopped the trespassers 30 m before the border line. Detainees did not have any documents, however they named themselves 26 and 43-year-old citizens of Georgia. According to the words of the foreigners they were going to work in Austria. They stated to Ukrainian border guards that they themselves travelled according to the map which they burned down together with their passport when coming to the very border. At the present moment they are taken interviews by the border guards, and they undergo identification. An administrative protocol was drawn up as to their attempt to cross illegally the border. The measure of their responsibility will be decided by the court.

Border guards detained Moldavian – Georgian group of illegal migrants

The border guards of two countries in the area of Ukrainian-Slovakian border apprehended a group of illegal migrants. The officers of SSU learned about the appearance of foreigners from local people. During the search Ukrainian law enforcement agents caught one citizen of Moldova. Slovakian border guards stopped two more violators receiving information from Ukrainian colleagues – Moldavian and Georgian. These illegal migrants were handed over to the officers of Chop Detachment.

Last week border guards commenced two criminal cases against citizens of Georgia intending to cross illegally the border with  forged documents. One of the foreigners was caught in Donetsk region, and the other one – in Kharkiv region. Besides, a criminal case was commenced against two Ukrainians who illegally smuggled one more Georgian to Russia.

Illegal migrants were trying to escape from the building of State Border Service

In Transcarpathian region three citizens of Georgia were detained trying to escape the special premise of State Border Service. In a result of unsuccessful escape from the room located on the 4th floor one of the foreigners found himself on the sickbed.

At about 1 o’clock at night during the duty of the border details protecting the special premise a suspicious noise was heard. As it was cleared out a grating on the window was pulled out in the room where three citizens of Georgia were kept. Illegal migrants were trying to go down from the fourth floor through the vent light.  They used tied together blankets as a rope which they fastened to gas pipe. In a moment the border guards appeared in the room of detainees and under their window. One Georgian was missed. He was found later on near the building. The runaway was so in a hurry that he fell off the “rope”. Emergency delivered the citizen of Georgia who fell down unsuccessfully to traumatological department of Mukachevo Central District Hospital. He was diagnosed preliminarily an injury of the chest and fracture of the lower leg.  

The border guards of Mukachevo Detachment detained the Georgian at attempt to cross illegally the border on Hungary. Later on, all three migrants reported that they did not wish to return back home and they would try to get to EU countries in every possible way.

Afghan boy has never reached desired Europe

Police of Berehovo town caught illegal migrant approaching Ukrainian-Hungarian border. In the afternoon policemen together with the border guards detained a dark skinned boy 20 m before the state border who named himself 17-year-old citizen of Afghanistan. Young man had no any documents permitting him to stay on the territory of Ukraine. Thus, trespasser was delivered to Mukachevo Border Detachment to clarify the circumstances of the case.
