Two Transcarpathians were imprisoned for smuggling of illegal migrants

In Transcarpathian region two local residents were convicted for smuggling of illegal migrants…

Sentence of Uzhgorod Municipal District Court came into force concerning two residents of v.Nyzhniy Koropets, Mukachevo district, Transcarpathian region, who tried to take illegally 6 citizens of Afghanistan over the border of Ukraine to European countries. It was established that the group of illegal migrants was delivered to Transcarpathia from Chernivtsi.

In January, 2012 SSU officers detained two cars nearby the village of Velyka Dobron, Uzhgorod district. There were six migrants from Afghanistan without any documents. They were accompanied by the residents of the region.

The court sentence recognized two local residents to be guilty in commitment of the crime stipulated  by Part 2 Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine on preliminary agreement by the group of persons) of Criminal Code of Ukraine and appointed the punishment in the form of imprisonment for 5 years with probation term of 1 year and 6 months to each person.
