Public Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region has commenced a criminal case against the border guards letting 29 illegal migrants to cross the border. The Inquiry Department of Public Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region has commenced the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding by the fact of service state abuse by the border guards of Chop and Mukachevo Border Detachments (Part 1 Article 364 of Crime Code of Ukraine).
As it was reported the head of Inquiry Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Ivan Bitlyan, it was established that since August 11 -31, mentioned officers have intentionally abused their official position in the interests of third parties, arranged the conditions for an illegal crossing of the state border by foreigners, in a result of which 29 citizens of Moldova, Afghanistan and Pakistan crossed the border illegally.
So far, pre-trial investigation continues on this criminal proceeding.
