Border guards detained 6 illegal migrants at the border

1The car of Ukrainian registration was apprehended by the border guards of Sumy Detachment. The border detail of BS “Yunakivka” stopped the car near the inhabited area some meters before the state border. There were 2 citizens of Tajikistan and 1 of Uzbekistan in the car of the Ukrainian citizens. On more violator, according to the information of Polish colleagues, was detained by the border guards of BS “Belz” of Lviv detachment. The detainees were the citizen of Turkey. The man traveled to Poland to find some job and improve his living conditions.

Besides, two violators were detained in Transcarpathia by the border guards of BS “Goronglab” of Mukachevo detachment. The silhouettes of unknown persons were noticed by means of the thermal device. The agents started after the violators and apprehended them nearby the border on Hungary. According to the words of the travelers, it was learned that they were the citizens of China. So far, all detainees undergo the verification procedures.

Citizen of Afghanistan with three children was getting to EU countries for the second time

thumb_news_20150126_142732_1422275252In the frames of realization of operative information, border guards of Mukcahevo Detachment detected a group of illegal migrants at the approaches to border on Hungary. The border guards noticed and stopped the woman with three children at about 5 a.m. in the area of BS “Goronglab”. She reported that they were the citizens of Afghanistan, and all their documents were as if forgotten in taxi by which they got there. So far, the detainees are in the Border detachment. The law enforcement agents established that the citizen of Afghanistan and three her children had been already apprehended 7 months ago nearby the border on Slovakia.

More than two million people escaped war in the East of Ukraine

thumb_news_20150305_122639_1425551199UNO Refugee Agency marks complicated situation in Ukraine because of the events in the east of the country and people’s state, which are forced to leave their homes.

“There is one million forty thousand internally displaced persons. Not all of them register in the region”, – it was reported by Vencent Koshtel at the meeting of the Committee on European Parliament Development of UNO Refugee Agency.

According to his words, unwillingness of military aged males to serve as well as lack of information about the registration rules are among the reasons of non-registration. Koshtel marked that about a half of displaced persons are ready to return back to the places of permanent residence when war actions will finish.

About three hundred thousand Ukrainians were granted temporary asylum in Russia or refugee status – it was stated by the first deputy head of FMS of Russia, Ekaterina Egorova.

“300 thousand are persons getting temporary residence and refugee status беженца”, – she said.

Altogether, there is about a million of Ukrainian citizens arrived in “emergency order” due to the conflict in the south-east of the country.

Almost 100 thousand residents of Transcarpathia took a citizenship of Hungary

thumb_news_20150305_122639_1425551199As it was stated by Arpad Yanosh Potapi, State Secretary of Hungary, responsible for national policy in the Hungarian government, almost 100 000 persons from Transcarpathian region took citizenship of Hungary on simplified procedure. According to his estimate, Hungary has got 670 000 new citizens from countries neighboring to Hungary under this procedure. In total, 710 00 foreigners submitted applications on this point.

“66% of new citizens of Hungary are from Transylvania, 17% – from Vojvodina, 14% – from Transcarpathia”, – it was reported by Arpad Yanosh Potapi.

Fund of Gabor Betlen supports foreign Hungarians, having its branch also in Transcarpathia. The Hungarian budget provided 17.5 billion forint for its activity for the year 2015. About 100 000 ethnic Hungarians applied for Hungarian citizenship and almost 94 thousand of them were granted this status, – these are 14% residents from Transcarpathia.

As Arpad Yanosh Potapi confirms, Hungarian authority plans to spend in total 17.6 billion forint as assistance of Hungarian Diaspora abroad.

Concerning the governmental program, he said, that in 2015 the program would include Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain in addition to 24 countries engaged in it last year. The program is focused on the relations strengthening by means of assistance to national culture via language courses and other cultural activities. Last year, the state budget allotted 1 billion forint on this program.

Two taxi drivers were caught smuggling illegal migrants from Iraq

869708-98079685746_0In the course of the operation, agents of the Service on Human Trafficking Combating of Transcarpathian Police together with the staff of the Road Inspection stopped two cars (of Kyiv and Transcarpathian registration) at the police post bordering on Lviv region.

The cars were driven by two residents of Mukachevo district of the age 34 and 41, both are taxi drivers in one of the Mukachevo private services. There were four young citizens of Iraq without any documents inside the car. They were first delivered to Svalyava District Police department, where their personalities were established, and then to Migration Service.

As it was established, these Iraqis arrived to Transcarpathia from Odessa aiming at further trip to the countries of the Western Europe. The taxi drivers stated that these men stopped them on the way to Mukachevo and asked to make a voyage to be acquainted with the local landscapes…

So far, the law enforcement agents are establishing the circle of persons involved in this smuggling channel. The violation was registered in the Single Records Book of Svalyava AMOI, investigation of this fact is under consideration.

Almost 3.5 thousand people from the Crimea and the East of Ukraine moved to Transcarapathia

69708-909-80796857463As it is stated in the Regional Headquarters on issues of social welfare of the citizens displaced from the temporary occupied territories and areas of ATO realization, as of February 27 there are 3484 persons temporarily accommodating in Transcarpathian region. In particular, 276 persons arrived from the annexed Crimea, and 3208 moved from the areas of anti-terroristic operation occurring. Of them 1489 are capable persons (476 men and 1013 women), 950 – children and 1045 – handicapped and aged people. In contrast, as of the beginning of the year 2015 its number comprised 3164 persons, of them 2911 were the citizens from ATO.

Somali woman intended to use someone’s passport and fabricated her pregnancy

thumb_news_20141128_103650_1417163810Border guards of separate check point “Kyiv” in the airport “Boryspil” detained a passenger with someone’s passport of the citizen of Finland. The girl arrived by the flight from United Arab Emirates presenting her passport for check, which did not belong to her. The “traveler” planned to get to Helsinki. Soon, the girl made complaints on her stomach ache and stated about her pregnancy. After woman’s examination, the doctors refuted the arguments as to her pregnancy, and the girl’s state was recognized as satisfactory.

Citizen of Kazakhstan intended to get to Poland on foot

9-80798657Border guards of BS “Krakovets” detained a man nearby the Ukrainian-Polish border, who was traveling beyond the check point to Poland. Detainee reported that he was the citizen of Kazakhstan, however, he did not have documents. As usually, the reason of such a trip was planning of further employment in one of the European countries. The man was apprehended till identification of his personality and documents of administrative violation were prepared for the attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine.

Hungary intends to close its borders to migrants

As the Hungarian-Serbian border is identical with the border of the Schengen zone, Hungarian authorities patrol the frontier region permanently to prevent illegal migrants crossing the border. On a daily basis dozens of would-be immigrants are caught by border police and the voluntary organization of civil guards in a narrow border region south of Szeged, 170 km south of Budapest, Hungary. Addressing to the Parliament at the hearings on this issue initiated by the ruling Party “Fides”, Kontrat marked that Hungary could not take such a burden. He stated that increase in the number of illegal migrants for the last years.
Kontrat reports that part of them are not the real refugees, as they arrive from the countries, where there is no any war and they do not expose to any pursuit.

Currently, Hungary is a transit country for migrants, however, soon it may become the principal target if no effective decision will be made to regulate the wave of the refugees from Kosovo.

Kontrat provided with the data concerning the detention of 30 436 illegal migrants by Hungary Police since the beginning of the year, 25468 of them arrived from Kosovo.

In the year 2014, the half number of persons seeking asylum, 21 000 persons were from Kosovo and 20% (more than 8700) – the citizens of Afghanistan. The majority of the migrants arrive from the crisis zones such as Syria and Somalia.

Kontrat regards that EU shall adopt strict measures concerning immigration policy, asserting that the present rules “are weak and they may be abused”.

In 2014 Hungary spent 2.6 billion forints for foreigners’ registration (in 2012 – 1.1 billion forint).

The first Ukrainian Czechs are moving to Czech Republic

volinskie_Chehi-667x472The first 40 Ukrainian Czechs will arrive to Czech Republic by the special governmental flight on March 15, 2015. The next group of displaced persons of Czech origin is coming by buses. The Czech Republic will accept the first wave in about 135 persons.

It was informed by the Minister of Interior of CR Milan Khovanets. Mission on resettlement of the ethnic Czechs from the territory of Ukraine was named ad “Odessa”. Its purpose is a return to the historical homeland of the population with Czech roots and their provision with more worth life conditions. Immediately after the arrival, the displaced persons will be provided with the temporary housing belonging to the Ministry of Interior.

All arrived repatriates Czech authorities will grant to all arrived repatriates the free dwelling for the term of 6-12 months, single payment in the amount of 50 thousand koruna for adults and 20 thousand koruna for minors, counseling on employment. Altogether, the government intends to pay about 188 thousand koruna for assistance to one country fellow.
