Illegal migrants from Georgia, Tadjikistan and even Ukraine were apprehended in Transcarpathia

Border guards of Chop Detachment stopped several attempts of illegal cross of the state border.

In the first case, border guards of BS “V.Bereznyi” detained two unfamiliar men without documents moving towards Ukrainian-Slovakia border. After detention “travellers” explained that they were the citizens of Georgia and tried to get to Slovakia. During the establishment of all circumstances it became known that this ‘”duet” tried to get to the territory of European Union by illegal way not for the first time.

One more “happiness seeker”, also without documents, was apprehended by border detail of BS “Tysa”. The man intending to get to Hungary through the river Tysa “introduced” himself as the citizen of Tajikistan and said that he made his way to Hungary in the search of better life conditions.

Besides, border guards detained two citizens of Ukraine at the check points “Tysa” and “Uzhgorod”, who tried to cross the state border without corresponding documents.

All violators were delivered to border subdivisions in order to clarify the circumstances of the infringements and processing of administrative and procedural documents. Decision on responsibility before the law and their further destiny will be defined by the court.

Number of citizens accepted in the frames of Readmission Agreement at EU borders has decreased almost in 4 times

The majority of persons returned during the last year in the frames of realization of Readmission Agreement were accepted at the border with Poland (64%), Slovakia (14%) and Romania (13%). Reminding, Readmission Agreement between Ukraine and EU came into force on January 1, 2010.

Nowadays, Ukraine has entrusted State Border Service and State Migration Service of Ukraine with the implementation of these agreements. Apart from EU, such Agreements were concluded with 9 more countries of the world: Vietnam, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Switzerland. Negotiation process goes on with the number of other countries. Thus, for example, border department conciliated the projects of Readmission Agreements with 17 more countries among which there is Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, etc. New Readmission Agreement between Ukraine and Russian Federation and Executive Protocol to it also await for their ratification initiated by State Border Service, which were signed by the parties in Moscow in October 2012.

It should be marked that contrary to pessimistic prognosis as to possible problems in realization of the present Agreement, no any complications arise today. Moreover, within every year border guards fix the stable decrease in the number of persons accepted from neighbouring countries. Besides, 39% became less the number of returned citizens of Ukraine. Thus, in 2012 – 288 persons were accepted in comparison with 392 persons in 2011 and 469 persons in 2010. In 3,3 times less became the number of returned citizens of CIS (2012 – 80 persons, 2011 – 168, 2010 – 267) and in 4,7 times – the citizens from other countries (2012 – 28 persons, 2011  – 75, 2010 – 131).

It should be marked separately that in the course of 2012 Ukrainian side handed over 65 persons to the country of departure. These were mainly the citizens of Romania – 30 persons, Poland – 11, Hungary – 5. There were also the citizens of France, Russia, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and other in the “list”.

Moldavian tried to get to Russia using railway truck

Moldavian intending to leave the territory of Ukraine illegally was detained by the border guards nearby railway check point “Khutir Mykhailivskyi” (Sumy oblast).

Unfamiliar person was noticed with the help of the video observation camera. The man was walking along the railway trucks in the direction to Russia. Apprehending the traveller, border guards established that he was the citizen of Moldova having only the national passport. The man explained that he decided to avoid border registration, as he had no corresponding documents for crossing Ukrainian-Russian border and went along the railway truck. The detainee is handed over to the workers of MOI.

In the airport “Boryspil” the border guards returned the citizen of China by a return flight to the country of departure. 40-year-old man arrived by a flight from Moscow and gave forged residence certificate of Ukraine for control.

Afghan with forged documents was returned by a return flight

A violator with forged documents was detected by the border guards of separate check point “Kyiv” among the passengers arrived from Dubai in the airport “Boryspil”. It was established that 39-year-old citizen of Afghanistan gave a certificate on residence in Ukraine for control in order to cross Ukrainian border. The man explained that he got this document with the help of his wife during his previous stay in our country. Now, the man is returned by a return flight to the country of departure because of absence of document permitting his entrance to Ukraine.

It is also worth to mark that the cases of detection of such forgeries has become often thing at capital airports. Thus, only for two months of the present year the staff of the check point “Kyiv” detected 10 forged Ukrainian residence certificates.

Two illegal migrants from Georgia were detained at the border in Transcarpathia

Border guards of Chop Detachment stopped an attempt of illegal cross of Ukrainian-Slovakian state border. Two men without documents decided to get to one of the countries of European Union by illegal way through the area of BS “Velykyi Bereznyi” that guarded Ukrainian-Slovakian border. In order to increase the chances for their success, violators decided to realize their plan at night, but due to intent service of border detail, they were apprehended at the approaches to the state border.

“Tourists” explained that they were the citizens of Georgia and arrived to Ukraine legally through international check point for aviation communication “Boryspil”. As to the goals of their trip, representatives of the Caucasus reported that they were moving to Western Europe aiming at improving their life conditions and Italy had to be the final point of their destination.

In a result of detention, the trespassers were delivered to border subdivision for establishment of the circumstances of the infringement and processing of administrative and procedural documents. Decision about responsibility before the law and further destiny of the detainees will be defined by the court.

Four minors were in the group of illegal migrants from Afghanistan

Border guards of BS “Vilok” of Mukachevo Detachment apprehended 8 citizens of Afghanistan nearby the border. Information about the appearance of unknown persons in the border area was received by the law enforcement agents from local residents. Starting to the place, border guards detained 6 persons, and in the course of further search, two more unfamiliar persons were detected at the bank of the river Tysa. Soon, it became known that all detainees were the citizens of Afghanistan. There was a family of 5 persons – father, mother and three more children of the age 10 to 16 years old – in the group of the illegal migrants. There were also 2 more adult men and 17-year-old boy. All detainees intended to get to Europe in order to improve their life conditions. Besides, detained persons reported that they as if appealed for refugee status granting in Ukraine. However, border guards established that corresponding applications were not submitted by the Afghans. Now, the citizens of Afghanistan are handed over to representatives of Migration Service of Transcarpathian oblast.

Three citizens of Nigeria were getting to Ukraine with forged residence certificates

In the airport of Simferopol border guards apprehended 3 citizens of Nigeria with forged documents. The trespassers were detected by the workers of State Border Service among the passengers arriving by the flight from Tashkent. In the course of the border control “travellers” – two women and a man gave forged Ukrainian temporary residence certificates for the check. Now, corresponding procedural documents are processed as to the violators and they are refused in entrance to the territory of our country.

Former chief of Refugee Department is sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment

Uzhgorod Municipal Regional Court announced a sentence as to Refugee Department of Head Department of State Migration Service in Transcarpathian oblast.

The official demanded and received a bribe in the sum of 16000 from the citizen A. in August 2012. He is sentenced according to Part 3 Article 368 of Crime Code (bribe receiving) of Ukraine with restraint, forfeit of the right to occupy posts connected with implementation of organizational-regulatory or administrative functions for three years, with probation period for 1 year.

Border guards apprehended 5 persons with forged and someone’s passports

A trespasser from western Asia was detained at the railway station of the check point “Yagodyn”. During the border-customs registration of the train “Kyiv-Warsaw” border guards of Lutsk Detachment detected a foreigner that intended to get to Poland with someone’s passport. With the help of special devices, it was established that document was valid and it did not belong to the bearer.

Two more violators were apprehended by the border guards of Ismail Detachment in Odessa oblast. They were detected in regular bus “Odessa-Varna” (Bulgaria) directing through the check point “Vynogradivka”. During the check in of the passengers, two citizens of Russia presented forged documents of the citizens of Bulgaria for passport control, in which the pages with constituent date were changed.

Besides, in the airport Boryspil border guards of separate check point “Kyiv” 34-year-old citizen of Ukraine was detained during the check in of the passengers making their way to Vienna. The man presented a forged passport of the citizen of Estonia. Ukrainian explained that he bought this document during his stay abroad for € 3500 with the aim of legalization. Also at the same airport, 25-year-old man was also apprehended, who arrived by the flight from Dubai. As it was established, the passenger was a person without citizenship from Syria, however he gave the passport of the citizen of Bulgaria for control. At the present moment, the man is returned by a return flight to the country of departure.
