In Transcarpathia border guards detained illegal migrants from Georgia without problems

Border guards of the post “Onokovtsy” of BS “Uzhgorod” of Chop Border Detachment stopped the attempt of the next voyage of the seekers of “European happiness”. Three men were detained when they tried to overcome the barrage fence. The violators confessed that they had arrived from Georgia and wanted to get to Slovakia. In contrast to recently detained country fellows, they abstained from escape and resistance to border guards. They did not have any documents identifying their personality, thus they were delivered to border subdivision in order to establish the circumstances of the infringement and working out of administrative and procedural documents. Decision about responsibility before the law and their further destiny of all detainees will be made by the court.

Undressed illegal migrants were detained in Transcarpathia on the bank of the river

In the area of BS “Solotvyno” border detail detected and detained three citizens without document and clothes on the bank of the river Tysa.  According to their words, they were citizens of Romania, 1995 and 1996 years of birth. As detainees reported they crossed Ukrainian border as they wished to have a rest at the Ukrainian bank of the river Tysa. It was seen from their appearance – Romanians were without clothes, just in swimming trunks.

At the preseтt moment protocols are prepared as to all three detainees in accordance with Part 202 and 204 of Criminal Code of Ukraine about administrative infringements. Future destiny of detainees will be decided by the court.

Science of survival for refugees with children in Transcarpathia

Meeting was hold in Uzhgorod press-club, the subject of which was “How should a child adapt in the environment of another government: support of social services, volunteers, non-governmental organizations».

Ivan Pirov, Music teacher in Mukachevo TAC,  Anatoliy Bylychko, social workers of International Fund of Health Well Being and Environment Conservation “NEEKA” and women-residents of Mukachevo TAC had a meeting with journalists.

Ivan Pirov stated that the syllabus introduced in TAC help children to adapt quicker in Ukrainian society. Even if a language barrier is hard to overcome in the beginning, so due to songs and dances it is easier to find common language with children. “If these children live in our environment, so my task is to teach them our song, communication, European mentality. These children attend Ukrainian school. Certainly, it is hard to get over the language barrier, but these children can learn Ukrainian on the communication level already in six months using correct approach. Peculiarities of our culture are learned with the help of movements, songs, melodic and mood».

Anatoliy Bylychko, social worker of International Fund of Health Well Being and Environment Conservation “NEEKA” has dwelled at length on special programmes existing due to NGOs of Transcarpathia. “There are programmes that help children to adapt in Ukrainian society, become its full members. Special lessons on tolerance are conducted for children, Ukrainian lessons are conducted separately. NGOs support with purchase of textbooks, school uniform, all necessary things starting from pencils to sport uniform, footwear.” Psychologist also works with children who had to leave their country of origin and got to Ukraine. He helps better perceive circumstances in which the child appears. He also conducts lessons on learning other religions, in particular, Christianity. As it was marked by Anatoliy Bylychko, there were no any conflicts in TAC on religious grounds.

This summer NEEKA conducted English-speaking camp for Mukachevo children together with kids from TAC. Games, joint stay of children of different nationalities promoted durable contacts, inter cultural exchange. According to the words of Anatoliy Bylychko, for the part of refugee-children Ukraine is really native as they were born here. And the first words they heard were also Ukrainian. Female residents of TAC demonstrated by singing in Ukrainian and communicating with the journalists the way they know Ukrainian and joined the culture of recently foreign country,

Uzhgorod press-club realizes project “Ukraine is my second motherland” at the support of Danish Refugee Council. The goal of the project is to support social adaptation and integration of refugee-children in Ukrainian society as well as attract attention to those problems they face in everyday life.

Two Georgians made their way to the countries of European Union

Border guards of BS “Kosyne” of Mukachevo Detachment detained two citizens intending to cross the state border in Transcarpathia.  Men were detained 150 m before the border line. They were two Georgians of the age 43 and 24 years old. The older man has lived in Ukraine since 1988 and he already received the citizenship of Ukraine. The younger of the detainees was the citizen of Georgia and not long ago arrived to Ukraine. Indicated persons tried to get illegally to one of the countries of European Union. They will bear responsibility for this in accordance with the present legislation of Ukraine.

Chop border guards detained Somalis and Georgians

Border guards of BS “Uzhgorod” of Chop Border Detachment detained citizens of Somalia and Georgia while they were trying to cross the border illegally.  

In both cases, alarm devices went off reacting upon the movement of unfamiliar persons. The citizens of Somalia trying to get to Slovakia did not put up a resistance and obediently implemented all demands of the border guards, but the group of representatives of Caucasian region in number of 4 persons this time had to be “communicated” with in another way.

After receiving a signal about appearance of unfamiliar persons nearby the border, service dog brought border guards to the quartet of illegal migrants in some minutes, who were in the distance of 300 m before the line of the state border. However, trespassers tried to run away and during detention border guards had to make warning shoot up. Even after detention, runaways continued to put up resistance and threatened border guards with physical punishment.

In a result of detention of four persons without documents identifying their personality introduced themselves as adult citizens of Georgia. They were delivered to subdivision in order to establish the circumstances of the infringement and preparation of administrative and procedural documents. They will be responsible for the resistance to the border guards and for the absence of documents identifying their personality as well as for the attempt of illegal cross of the border of Ukraine: decision about the extent of punishment and their further destiny will be decided by the court.

Afghans were caught at Transcarpathian border because of pregnant

In Transcarpathia 7 illegal migrants from Afghanistan were detected at Ukrainian-Slovakian border, who were left by the smugglers to the mercy of fate. The circumstances happened because of pregnant woman feeling herself bad at the very border…

Seven citizens of Afghanistan were caught at once by the border guards of Chop Border Detachment in the area of BS “Novoselytsya” in Transcarpathia. Border guards detected and stopped violators 15 metres before the border line. There were two adults, four teenagers and a child of 2 years old. Besides, it was established that a woman was pregnant (7th month) and when she felt bad and was not able to go smugglers left them in the forest and hid.

Border guards took pregnant woman to the hospital, where she was rendered medical aid. Detained Afghans were sent to department in order to clarify the circumstances of infringement and establish persons involved in this violation.

Children-refugees in Mukachevo cleaned the park and learned to conduct interviews

Children-refugees and Transcarpathian children of the same age rested and studied at English-speaking camp. On August 25, they cleaned the park in the centre of Mukachevo. Here, they also had a practical lesson of School of young journalist in the frames of the project of Uzhgorod press-club “Ukraine is my second motherland” at the support of Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine.

More than 50 pupils of English-speaking camp were learning to conduct interviews and had an opportunity to feel themselves as journalists. Children received practical advices and tried independently to formulate interesting headings to their own materials.

A foreigner was detained in Uzhgorod smuggling illegal migrants to EU

In the course of operative and searching activities hold in Uzhgorod, law enforcement agents detained 22-year-old foreign citizen.

It was established beforehand that in June this year he organized illegal transportation of the group of illegal migrants through the state border of Ukraine. A criminal case was commenced according to this fact based on the signs of the crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 332 (illegal transportation of group of persons through the state border of Ukraine) of Criminal Code of Ukraine.

By the way, not so long ago the citizen of Armenia was condemned in Transcarpathia, who organized his channel of illegal migration in the region through the border to the country of European Union.

Smuggler was condemned to 4 years of imprisonment in Transcarpathia

Sentence of Uzhgorod Municipal Court has come into force concerning the organizer of illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine, 30-year-old inhabitant of Uzhgorod, native of Armenia and his accomplices. 

It was established that 30-year-old unemployed resident of Uzhgorod organized illegal transportation of Somali citizens through the state border of Ukraine to EU. On this purpose, he formed an organized grouping including also three citizens of Armenia and two local inhabitants. The members of the grouping implementing instructions of the organizer planned beforehand so-called safe routes of smuggling of illegal migrants from Lviv region to Uzhgorod hiding them temporarily at their accomplice’s house. From there Somalis were secretly taken to V.Bereznyi district nearby Ukrainian-Slovakian border and smuggled illegal migrants to the countries of European Union. During the short month of their activity, malefactors smuggled 9 Somalis through the state border.

In September 2010, law enforcement agents detained one of the members of the grouping, 28-year-old local resident and 58-year-old Armenian woman (the owner of this house) in Uzhgorod at the address of temporary concealing of illegal migrants.

SSU inspectors commenced a case against the organizer and his five accomplices in accordance with Part 3 Article 28 (crime commitment by the group of persons by prior conspiracy organized by the group or criminal grouping) and Part 2 Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine) of Criminal Code of Ukraine

Uzhgorod Municipal Court recognized figurants of this case to be guilty. Organizer of criminal grouping was appointed punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term of 4 years, his accomplices were also condemned to different periods of imprisonment.

One of the members of criminal grouping, 33-year-old citizen of Armenia, being during the trial of the criminal case being on a subscription house arrest succeeded to escape. He has been wanted since 2011.

Slovakia supposes that there is a number of smuggling tunnels between Transcarpathia and EU

Law enforcement agents believe that it is work of the whole criminal grouping. During the last days the search of the exit from the tunnel is continued from the side of Slovakia, which was disclosed from Ukrainian side in the village Mali Slemence. Special equipment was used in the search as well as excavators.
