Four Georgians intended to cross the border on Russia illegally

A group of illegal migrants from Georgia was detained at night by the officers of Donetsk detachment of SBS. The violators were stopped by the detail “Novoazovsk”. Four Georgian 19-39 years of age were moving in the darkness from Ukrainian village Kholodne to Russian one Voznesenka. The detainees were delivered to a special premise of Department of Border Service “Novoazovsk”. They will stay there till consideration of a case.
Moldavians and Afghanis were trying to get to EU through the woods of Transcarpathia

Two groups of illegal migrants were apprehended by the officers of border department “V.Bereznyi”. At midnight the district inspector apprehended 4 citizens of Moldova – 3 women and 1 man. As it was cleared out, a group was hiding in the forest waiting for darkness. Later on, a man orienting by compass led women to the border. His charges confessed that they planned to get to Italy to find a job. Each of them paid € 2500 for illegal trip. The violators were delivered to subdivision of State Border Service. Now the question is raised as to institution of an action against 29-year-old smuggler according to Article 332 “Illegal transportation of persons through state border of Ukraine”.
Two citizens of Ukraine helped detect the second group of the foreigners who were detained not far from the state border. The border guards checked thoroughly the locality around and found four foreigners (citizens of Afghanistan) who were hiding in the woods. The border guards had not learnt yet how the Afghanis got to Ukrainian-Slovakian border. The participation of two detained Ukrainians to trip organization is ascertained.
Somali pirates with guides from Uzhgorod were caught in Transcarpathia

The border guards of Mukachevo Detachment together with the officers of SSU detained four illegal migrants from Somalia in Berehovo district. The foreigners were accompanied by two Ukrainians. The law enforcement agents stopped the car Fiat driven by 21-year-old Uzhgorod citizen with violators 4 km before the border line. The Somalis confessed that they intended to get to Austria and they paid $ 2500 for illegal trip. The foreigners were delivered to border subdivision and two guided were taken to SSU. A question is raised as to institution of an action against the case on illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine.
In general, from the beginning of the current year the officers of State Border Service apprehended about forty illegal migrants from Somalia, and 75 of them were caught last year.
Local people in Transcarpathia “gave away” illegal migrants from Georgia to border guards

Three illegal migrants from Georgia were detained by the detail of department “Kamyanytsya” at night in Transcarpathia. Local people informed the lawmen about the appearance of suspicious persons in the suburb of the town of Perechin. The age of the foreigners is 27-40 years old. They arrived to Ukraine illegally. Donetsk and Iliechevsk are the cities’ name of their stay written in their migration cards. The detainees confessed in their search of better lot intending to get illegal to the countries of European Union.
12 illegal migrants ran from Transcarpathia to Slovakia

On July 18 and 19, the details of border control of Slovakian Republic detained 12 illegal migrants at Slovakian-Ukrainian border in the cross area Ublya Malyi Bereznyi who crossed the border along the “green line” from Transcarpathian region. Altogether seven Afghanis, four citizens of Belorussia and one citizen of Moldova got into the hands of Slovakian police. Two of them, Byelorussian and Moldavian decided to ask authorities of Slovakia to grant them political asylum. After preparation of all necessary documents police power of Slovakia will hand 10 illegal migrants to border guards of Transcarpathia according to Readmission Agreement between Ukraine and Slovakian Republic.
One illegal migrant costs 20 UAH to taxpayers a day

Today is three years since Ukraine has signed Agreement with EU on readmission. As a matter of fact, official Kyiv imposed to accept back its citizens who violated the migration regime, and also illegal migrants who got to Europe through territory of Ukraine. The conditions of their keeping should answer European standards. Legislation should also correspond. Brussels instead promised to abolish visas. There is 98 km of border of Ukraine with Slovakia. It is the most popular area for illegal migrants. Woods and mountains give the chance to cross the border.
Many illegal migrants are found with the help of thermal imagers. They actually scan the territory some kilometers away and even at night when it is difficult to examine the area. They wanted to get to Europe. They tried to pass round the border guards but occasionally came upon the detail. Detained illegal migrants are mainly the emigrants from former Soviet republics.
Marina, illegal migrant:
– Why did not you go legally? Because it costs € 4000 through a mediator. The Slovaks do not open the visa and the Czechs as well.
Marina is from Moldova. Her way was to Italy where she could earn more than at her motherland. She spent two days in the woods. As soon as she got out of it to the road she and her husband were detained.
– We are going back home and then we’ll see. Probably we will try once more and this time through Romania.
They are taken here – to temporary detention centre. The maximal term of stay here is 10 days.
Harisha Kumara is prepared to be sent back home to India. He tried a new way to get to cherished Europe. He paid some thousand dollars for entering the university. Thus, he got legally to Ukraine. Then he paid $3000 to smugglers.
If it is clear with documents so illegal migrants are sent back home. In case if they do not have passports, so they are taken to temporary detention centres where they can live for six months.
Nelya Sochik, sector chief on readmission issues of MOI of Ukraine:
– In case if it is hard to identify a person, as it is European practice – so we have to release this person. As a rule they are apprehended repeatedly and it continues till it is possible to identify a person.
Boris Marchenko, the first deputy director of Border Security Department of Border Service of Ukraine:
– It was said that we would accept from 100 to 500 thousand persons. Nowadays, if speaking about agreement implementation, we realized readmission of 300 persons.
Today one illegal migrant costs 20UAH to Ukrainian taxpayers a day not taking into account the sum for deportation. One way ticket costs sometimes up to $ 3000. For all this European Union has promised to abolish visas. Ukraine fulfilled its conditions. Now the word stays for Brussels. Kyiv is waiting…
Three Georgians attempted to get to Hungary from Transcarpathia

The border guards received information about movement of three unfamiliar persons towards the border at 1.40 a.m.. A decision to set border detail “AGO” was made at once in order to carry out searching actions and other special activities. At 2 a.m. the border detail “AGO” together with border detail “PTS” found and detained 3 citizens of Georgia (men) in the distance of 500 m from the state border who had documents. They were trying to cross illegally the state border of Ukraine and Hungary. At the present moment filtrations measures are taken towards the detainees.
Chinese and Moldavian migrants attempted to slip in Europe through Transcarpathia

For the attempt of the illegal cross of the border the border guards apprehended 7 illegal migrants. At the present moment the identification procedure and filtration-checking measures are taken towards the foreigners.
Illegal migrants with smugglers from Transcarpathia were detained on the highway Kyiv – Chop

Kyiv Police detained a car “Toyota” with five illegal migrants in it. The foreigners were of the age 20-25 years old having no any documents. They attempted to cross the border through Ukraine looking for a better life. Young people wished to get to Germany – some of them wanted to get to the relatives, the others find a job, however, all of them have the same dream of finding the constant place of living. At night the car was stopped by the officers of SPS on the 32-nd km of the highway Kyiv-Chop which was driven by the inhabitant of Svalyava district, Transcarpathia. 30-year-old Yaroslav escorted by his car his friend – the driver of the car “Toyota”. Only for transportation of living goods to Western Ukraine the drivers had to receive $300 for each foreigner. It stays only to guess how much their way to Europe costs taking into account all the expenses. The policemen apprehended the smugglers. According to the court decision they will stay under arrest for two months. Besides police establishes the circle of persons participating in organization of illegal transportation of the citizens through the state border. At the present moment illegal migrants are at the placement centre for foreign citizens in Chernihiv region. Soon they will be deported outside Ukraine back to their country of motherland.
