Pseudo-Polish was detained in Zhulyanu

Border guards of SBS detained one of the passengers in the airport Zhulyany during the check in for the flight to London. The woman presented for control her forged passport of the citizen of Republic of Poland. However, the photo of the bearer was changed in the document. The passenger explained to law enforcement agents that she bought passport aiming at being employed abroad. Now, the personality of the detainee is under establishment.

Policeman was condemned in Uzhgorod who assisted hundred of illegal migrants to get to EU

Former worker of police is condemned according to the materials of SSU, who participated in illegal transportation of illegal migrants through the state border of Ukraine to the countries of European Union.

A sentence of Uzhgorod Municipal Regional Court of Transcarpathian oblast came into force concerning the former worker of Mezhgorskiy Regional Police Department who abusing the service state assisted in smuggling illegal migrants through the state border of Ukraine in the composition of criminal grouping.     

Transcarpathian resident was one of the organizers of this unlawful deal, who in the beginning of 2007 together with the Kyiv inhabitant (woman) – citizen of Vietnam – established the international channel of illegal transportation of the migrants from South-Eastern Asia.

In total, the criminal grouping consisted of 10 persons, among which there was a resident of Cherkassy, Kyiv, Summy and Transcarpathian oblasts.

Malefactors acted according to a concrete scheme.

They used terminology only understandable for them. The citizen of Vietnam together with the accomplices formed groups of illegal migrants in Moscow, she controlled their smuggling through Russian-Ukrainian state border and secret delivery to Kyiv. Her partner together with other malefactors organized transportations of illegal migrants from to Kyiv to Transcarpathia and their transportations through Ukrainian-Slovakian state border.

Usually illegal migrants were smuggled at night at preliminary agreed route. For one time the lorry delivered about 20 to 30 foreigners from Kyiv oblast.

The duty of the police officer was to ensure the smooth movement of the lorry with illegal migrants along the territory of border area.

In June 2007 in the village Maidan, Mezhgorskyi region SSU officers detained the lorry. 43 persons – Indians, Pakistanis and Vietnamese hided in the specially equipped cache, who were accompanied by three citizens of Ukraine.

SSU inspectors proved that criminal grouping smuggled almost 200 illegal migrants through the state border in the course of four months.

During pre-trial investigation all persons participated in this unlawful affair were established as well as the police officer.

Uzhgorod Municipal Regional Court found former police officer guilty according to Part 1 Article 225 (creation of criminal organization), Part 2 Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons through the state border according to the preliminary agreement by group of persons) and Part 3 Article 364 (abuse of power and service position) of Criminal Code of Ukraine and was sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years with probation period for years.

The other malefactors were previously convicted according to Part 1 Article 255 and Part 2 Article 332 of Criminal Code of Ukraine to different terms of imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.

In Boryspil Moldavian made himself Ukrainian

In the airport “Boryspil” border guards apprehended 59-year-old passenger, who travelled to Kazakhstan. He showed the passport of the citizen of Ukraine, however the border guards detected that the page with constituent data was changed in the passport. As the violator explained he was Moldavian and he bought forged document from unknown persons as the term of his real passport was finished. The man was handed over to MOI representatives for further investigation actions.

Two more citizens of Moldova were caught by the border guards of State Border Service in the area of BS Guta in Transcarpathia. The men were stopped late in the evening 50 m before the border line. Moldavians did not have any documents and intended to leave the territory of Ukraine illegally.

Border guards stopped some groups of illegal migrants from Georgia in Transcarpathia

Border guards of Chop Detachment detained some groups of illegal migrants. The law enforcement agents of BS “Guta”, “Uzhgorod” and “Velykyi Bereznyi” receiveding operative information about the movement of unfamiliar persons towards the state border detected and apprehended in some minutes three groups of the “travelers”. Two groups consisted of four persons, one more composed of 3 violators. All detained men did not have any documents; however during the oral communication they reported that they were the citizens of Georgia. According to their words they intended to cross the state border illegally to the countries of the Western Europe.

Detainees were delivered to border subdivisions for processing document of administrative proceedings.

Five citizens of Afghanistan laid their way to Europe with the help of the map and the Internet

Four Georgians were apprehended by the border guards of State Border Service in Transcarpathia. The men of the age from 23 to 31 intended to get to Slovakia avoiding the meeting with the law enforcement agents. The trespassers were stopped 600 m before the state border by the border guards of BS “Guta”. They did not have any documents, however they introduced as the citizens of Georgia. In the course of the interview the border guards established that “travelers” made their way to neighboring country to be employed. The route was laid with the help of the Internet via mobile phone. The men took taxi getting to the suburb of Uzhgorod in order not to be caught. Paying the taxi driver they continued their way on foot, but the meeting with the border guards happened.

The other “migrant worker” from Georgia making his way to Slovakia was apprehended by the border guards of BS “Tysa” of Chop Detachment. 26-year-old had not reached 700 m to the border. During the verification action it became known that he used railway transport while traveling, and finally he hired taxi with the help of which he arrived to Chop. From there, as his predecessors, he decided to reach the border on foot. Detainee had a map of automobile roads of Ukraine, which he bought for orientation.

The way of “Somali pirates” to Slovakia was through Transcarpathia

Transcarpathian border guards apprehended Somalis and Moldavians.

At night officers of State Border Service of Ukraine detained 6 unfamiliar persons, who were moving towards the border on Slovakia. At about 3 a.m. border guards of BS “Guta” of Chop Detachment noticed a group of persons getting to the state border. The reaction group started immediately to detain the violators, neighboring subdivisions and border guards of the adjacent state were informed on this point as well.  After some time the search actions were finished, “travelers” were detained, they left 500 m to reach the border. Six unfamiliar persons, one of them was a woman, did not have any documents. According to their words they were the citizens of Somalia.

Detainees are apprehended and delivered to border subdivision in order to establish the circumstances.

Besides, 2 citizens of Moldova were caught in the area of Chop Border Detachment. They were detained by the border detail of BS ”Uzhgorod” in the morning 50 m before the line of the state border.

Syrian and Gambian getting to EU were detained in Transcarpathia

Africans want to get to EU through Transcarpathia in any way.

Border detail of BS “Uzhgorod” apprehended two men in the area of Chop Border Detachment, who were travelling to the countries of EU in an unusual way.

One of them was noticed in Uzhgorod. He was the citizen of Syria. The man had permanent certificate on residence in Moldova. During the interview at the border subdivision, where Syrian was invited for clarification of the circumstances, he reported that he intended to get to the countries of Western Europe. Administrative documents were prepared as to the detainee.

The other violator was detained not far from Uzhgorod. Local residents informed law enforcement agents about appearance of unfamiliar person in the border region. The man was stopped just when he was getting to the border line. Detainee did not have any documents; however, he introduced himself as the citizen of Gambia.

Two Georgians were apprehended at the barrier fence

 Border guards of BS “Knyagynya” of Chop detachment detected night “travellers” at night in Transcarpathia with the help of mobile thermal imager.  Two unfamiliar persons moving quickly to the state line were caught up by the border detail nearby the barrier fence. The men, who were just trying to overcome the barrier, were taken from the fence and detained. The “travelers” had no any documents, but informed that they were the citizens of Georgia. They wanted to get to EU countries in order to find good job. Detainees were delivered to border subdivision for processing administrative and procedural documents.

Ukrainian took pregnant woman with a child to Poland

Three persons moving towards the state border were detected by the border guards of BS “Smilnytsya” of Mostytskyi detachment early in the morning nearby the village Polske. The law enforcement agents catching up the trespassers were surprised much as the woman taking with her 4-year-old child was pregnant. The travelers did not have any documents, but introduced themselves as the citizens of Afghanistan.  Detained persons, among whom there was also Ukrainian, were delivered to border subdivision in order to establish the infringement and process administrative documents.

Ukraine gained the lead as to the number of migrants Europe

About 204 thousand citizens of Ukraine were granted permission on stay in the countries of European Union in 2011.

As it became known from promulgated annual report of European Commission on issues of migration and refugees on June 17 in Brussels, Ukrainians compose the biggest group of legal migrants in EU.

India (179 000), China (153 000) and Morocco (120 000).

Only 2,5 million persons received residence permission in European Union for the first time in 2011. The total number of legal migrants not having citizenship in EU countries comprises 4,1% out of the general population of European Union. The third of them arrived there enjoying the right of family reunification, a quarter came to work. 21% migrants were students, the rest had moved to EU in the search of political asylum or for other reasons. In Germany 5,7% of population does not have citizenship of any EU member-states.

The report of European Commission notes that in 2012 – 316 000 persons were rejected in entering the territory of EU , namely in Spain. About 427 000 persons were apprehended by the law enforcement bodies for illegal migration. In 2011 the cases of detention were approximately less in 40 000.  

It should be marked that about 2,5 million Ukrainians are beyond the border of Ukraine on earnings, more than a half of them are illegal migrants.  This information was published on May 27 by the experts of International Organization on Migration.

Ukrainians abroad officially sent to their families $7,5 billion of money transfers, and some less $ 1 billion – made illegal transfers. However, labour migrants will have to pay taxes for the amounts sent to Ukraine.
