Transcarpathian border guards apprehended illegal migrants from Moldova and Russia

Border guards of Chop Detachment apprehended three illegal migrants aiming to get to EU.

In the first case the failure was an attempt of illegal voyage for a man, who intended himself to get to Slovakia through the border area of BS “Guta”. Border detail detected and detained the man. Detainee reported that he was the citizen of Russian Federation but he could not prove his words by absence of documents.

Border guards of BS “Velykyi Bereznyi” detained illegal migrants due to advance information received by local residents. After qualitatively conducted actions on covering the state border, border detail apprehended two men. Though, this time the trespassers had documents – passports of the citizens of Republic of Moldova for travelling abroad. Detainees confirmed their intentions to get illegally to European Union.

In both cases, violators were delivered to subdivisions in order to establish the circumstances of the infringement and processing of administrative and procedural documents. At the present moment, all of them expecting for the court decision that will define the measure of their punishment.

Problems of refugees’ adaptation were discussed in Transcarpathia

On October 31, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Czech Republic in Ukraine, Ivan Pochuh together with Regional Representative of UNHCR in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, Oldrih Andrysek and head of State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Igor Mykhailyshyn visited Temporary Holding Facility in Mukachevo.

In the course of the visit problems of refugees’ integration into Ukrainian society were discussed as well as adaptation of persons who are in the procedure of this status determination. It was mentioned that the job placement on legal basis is a key stone for these people’s self-sufficiency. Mutual cooperation has already been set on this issue between Head Administration of State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, regional Employment Centre, NEEKA – executive partner of UNHCR and enterprise “Flextronix – Mukachevo”.

Nowadays, 47 foreigners live at Mukachevo THF including 23 children, 3 of them are unaccompanied minors. Mainly, these were migrants from Somalia and Afghanistan. Since the beginning of the year, 106 foreigners appealed to subdivisions of Transcarpathian Migration Service with applications about recognition as refugees or person in need of subsidiary protection.

SSU arrested Transcarpathian residents, who intended to smuggle illegal migrants to EU

Security Service of Ukraine liquidated transnational channel of illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine. On October 30, 2012 SSU officers detained a car nearby the village of Kamyanytsya, Uzhgorod district. There were 3 citizens of Afghanistan and two Ukrainians. The malefactors planned to smuggle illegal migrants through Ukrainian-Slovakian border beyond the check point. For conspiracy, the accomplices transported two Afghans in the boot and the third one was hidden at the back seat of the car.

It was established that organizers of illegal transportation were unemployed local inhabitants of the age 36 and 40 years old and not for the first time were made criminally liable for illegal transportation of the foreigners.

Transcarpathian SSU investigators commenced a criminal case as to detainees in accordance with Part 2 Article 332 of Crime Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine committed on preliminary agreement by a group of persons).

Border guards of Chop Detachment detained 6 illegal migrants from Georgia during a day

Six illegal migrants from Georgia were apprehended in the area of BS “Novoselytsya”. First border guards noticed a road of tracks leading towards the border and in some meters the trespassers were caught with the help of the service dog. As the very detainees explained, they intended to get to European Union illegally.

Illegal migrants from Georgia got entangled in barbed wire at the border in Transcarpathia

Border guards of the check point “Onokovtsy” of BS “Uzhgorod” detained a group of illegal migrants from Georgia. At about 5 a.m. technical means of border security went off and in some minutes an operative group started to look for the trespassers in the border area. The service dog detected the footprints of the violators half a kilometer before the border line and in some more hundreds of meters the very “travellers” were found. Detainees were two men of Caucasian appearance without documents, according to their words they were citizens of Georgia intending to get to EU with the aim to improve life conditions.

The trespassers were delivered to division of BS “Uzhgorod” in order to establish the circumstances of the infringement and process administrative and procedural documents. Decision on responsibility before the law and future destiny of all detainees will be defined by the court.

Border guards caught four citizens of Georgia in Volyn, who made their way to EU countries

Four citizens of Georgia trying to get illegally to one of EU countries were caught by the border guards of BS “Yagodyn” of Lutsk Detachment. Receiving information in advance about the men of Caucasian appearance making their way towards the state border, border guards stopped the travellers in order to check documents in the suburb of the village Starovoitove. According to the words of the detainees, the final point of their trip was Italy. Equipping with the maps from the Internet, men intended to get to EU in the search of the better life. In accordance with the court decision detainees were sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest. After this term they will be deported from the territory of Ukraine.

Syrian arrived to Ukraine with forged documents

In the airport Boryspil during the check-in of the passengers from Istanbul, border guards of separate check point “Kyiv” detected 24-yer-old man, who presented partially forged passport of the citizen of Syria for control. The man explained that he intended to study in Ukraine, however the term of his document expired and he addressed for help to his relative that made false his passport. At the present moment Syrian is returned to the country of departure.

Some of the foreigners, as a rule from countries of Southern-Eastern Asia and Africa, use invitations for studies as occasion to get to Ukraine officially having then quite other plans. Besides, foreigners often try to get to Ukraine with the help of illegally received student documents and registration of their passport in Ukraine beforehand, yet before entering the territory of the country.

Generally, since the beginning of the year officers of State Border Service of Ukraine detected 87 forged documents just in the airport Boryspil.

Citizen of Turkey paid € 3000 for the passport of Bulgarian to get to Germany

The citizen of Turkey paid € 3000 for forged passport to get to Germany. But his intentions were not realized, he was detained by the officers of State Border Service in the airport of Odessa.

In the course of the control of the persons arrived from Istanbul, border guards paid attention to a man, who presented passport for travelling abroad belonging to the citizen of Bulgaria. Carrying out thorough examination of the document, border guards established that it was partially forged – another information and photo was on the page with constituent data. The very man was 42-year-old citizen of Turkey. According to his words, the Bulgarian passport he bought in Istanbul for € 3000 and intended to get Germany in order to be employed.

At the present moment, the man is forbidden to enter Ukraine for the term of 3 years and he is sent back by a return flight to the country of departure.

Police surrounded and detained illegal migrants from Armenia

In the course of operative and preventive actions, officers of Department of Police Migration Control of MOI of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region together with the representatives of BS “Luzhanka” of Mukachevo Border Detachment apprehended two men without documents attesting their personalities. The migrants, naming themselves as the citizens of Armenia, were detected nearby border line in the village Astey, Berehovo district. Detainees were handed over to representatives of Mukachevo Border Detachment in order to establish their personalities and circumstances due to which they got to the territory of Ukraine. The control is also carried out to establish the circle of persons that could be involved in staying of these illegal migrants in the region.

Luhansk border guards apprehended six illegal migrants

Six travellers from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Eritrea were apprehended by the border guards of BS “Sverdlovsk” of Luhansk Detachment.

Border guards stopped 24-year-old Ukrainian during the control of the state border, who transported three travellers without documents. It was established that two detainees, one of whom was a woman, were migrants from Eritrea, and one more man was the resident of Pakistan. Soon in the course of searching actions in the suburb of the village Sverdlovsk, border detail detained one more citizen of Eritrea and two citizens of Afghanistan. Our country fellow, the resident of Luhansk region, also decided to lift these citizens.

According to the explanations of all detainees, they travelled in the search of better fate. A criminal case was commenced by the chief of Luhansk Border Detachment against two Ukrainians who are suspected in illegal transportation of persons through the state border.
