Two citizens of Morocco and one from Armenia were revealed by the border guards at night by the border guards of Chop Detachment at railway station Velykyi Bereznyi, Transcarpathia. Three foreigners arrived by train “Lviv-Solotvyno” and had documents, the term of which completed. During interview and establishment of their goal to stay in controlled border area, the law enforcers found that foreigners’ actions contain signs of violation stipulated by Article 204-1 of Administrative Violations Code of Ukraine 204-1 “Illegal cross or attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine”. So far, all circumstances are under investigation. Upon protocols drawing up they will be delivered to Temporary Detention Facility. Cases are passed to the court.

Four illegal migrants getting through to EU countries were detained by the staff of State Border Guard Service in Transcarpathian and Lviv regions. The first “travelers” were stopped at the approaches of BD “Guta”, Chop Detachment. They left to reach 500 m to the border. The violators were 2 men from Bangladesh. Illegal migrants did not have any documents. So far, administrative protocols were drawn up for these persons and all circumstances were established. Also, persons are under establishment assisted in illegal trip.

Two more migrants were detained at the border on Poland by the border guards of Mostytskyi Detachment. Receiving information about appearance of unfamiliar persons in border zone the detail detained 2 citizens of Turkey 100 m before the border. Checking the area the militaries did not reveal any violations. All details of violators’ trip are established.

It will be recalled that at night border guards of Chop Detachment together with representatives of National Police and SSU in Transcarpathian region apprehended five citizens of Vietnam being transported by the car by Ukrainian. According to driver’s explanations he took the foreigners on the road and for some amount of money had to deliver them to the village of Dubrynychi close to Ukrainian-Slovakian border.

The staff of State Border Guard Service has revealed and detained almost 130 illegal migrants within the “green” area since the beginning of the year.

Prompt Reaction Group of Perechyn Police Station with the participation of border detail revealed the car with illegal migrants in the course of patrolling in the area of district centre/ the law enforcers stopped the car for violation of road traffic rules. When examining the car there were five foreigners detected inside it. The car was driven by 35-year-old resident of Uzhgorod. The man explained to the officers that he picked up foreigners in Uzhgorod, from where he had to take them to Dubrynychi village, Perechyn district. Illegal migrants are delivered to Perechyn Police Station.

Two illegal migrants arrived from African continent were apprehended in Bukovyn by the border guards of Chernivtsi Detachment. District inspector of BD “Gertza” revealed two unfamiliar persons close to Ukrainian-Romanian border. The foreigners had no any identifying documents, however reported about their trip to EU. Currently, the foreigners were delivered to Temporary Detention Facility. Protocols were drawn up for preliminary citizens of Somalia for their attempt to cross the state borders, the case is forwarded to the court.

Forged documents were found in transit passenger by the border guards of Separate Checkpoint “Kyiv” in the Boryspil Airport. During the random check of passengers departing by flight “Kyiv-Amsterdam” the border guards established that one of the passengers had completely forged passport of the citizen of Slovenia. Currently, false passport is confiscated. In fact, it was the citizen of Iran. He arrived from Turkey. Then, he was returned by a back flight to the country of arrival.

In the frames of operation “Border 2017” the staff of State Border Guard Service received and verified information about possible transportation of three illegal migrants over the state border to EU countries. Almost at midnight three persons, probable violators, were noticed at the border in Transcarpathia. Information on this point was reported to the border guards of BD “Kosyno”, Mukachevo Detachment. In a result of the search three persons were detected. They attempted to run away during the detention, however, they failed. Two of them were the citizens of Algeria and one from Yemen. Two men, aged 33 and 37, and 32-year-old woman were stopped 300 m before the border. These persons are kept in Temporary Detention Facility. Protocols were drawn up for attempt to cross the state borders, the case is forwarded to the court.

Complex actions on joint special operation “Border-2017” continue at the state border of Ukraine. The next violators were appreheneded in Lviv region. Thus, during monitoring of border area the border guards of BD “Shegeni”, Mostytskyi Detachment, noticed the signs of engineer constructions overcoming. Soon, the law enforcers apprehended a man, 1979 YOB, who had passport of Turkish citizen. In the course of verification it was established that some days ago he legally entered Ukraine arriving by plane, however, he decided to continue his trip to the countries of European Union in illegal way.

After a while, Subdivision on duty received information from district inspector of Border Service about tow unfamiliar persons of African appearance being noticed by local residents when migrants attempted to cross the border on Poland. Detainees were men, 1987 and 1992 YOB, the citizens of Ethiopia. One of them had Certificate on Temporary Stay in Ukraine, the other – arrived to Kyiv officially in the beginning of May.

In both cases, documents on administrative infringement were prepared with regard to attempt of illegal cross of the state border of Ukraine. Decision will be made by the court.

The officers of BD “Knyagynya” detected two unfamiliar persons of African appearance close to the line of state border, who made their way towards Slovakia. Reaction group sent the detail immediatedly to the place and five meters before the border they detained the citizens of Cote d’Ivoire and woman from Guinea. Aiming to establish the circumstances of infringement, detainees were delivered to Border Department “Knyagynya”, upon documents drawing as to Article 2 of Administrative Violations Code of Ukraine 204-1 “Violation or attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine” persons were passed to Chop Temporary Detention Facility. The further destiny of illegal migrants and type of official reprimand will be defined by the court.

In the course of tediously and continuous investigation it was established that the citizen of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan named “Engineer” for a long time has been the smuggler of illegal migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan to Ukraine, and then to the countries of European Union. He personally maintained stable connections with the leaders of organized criminal groups specialized in illegal migrants transporting in Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other countries of Asia.

Through an extensive network of collaborators among the number of foreigners residing in Ukraine, he personally supervised the majority of illegal migration flows passing through the country. Now we can report about at least a few dozen of illegal migrants’ smuggling being arranged directly by “Engineer” only this year. The cost of such services, according to the country of final destination, makes up in average $12-15 ths.

Regardless of a number of criminal proceedings commenced against this citizen on the facts of illegal transpiration of persons across the state border, strong criminal connections and gained experience during the illegal activity helped him avoid prosecution.

On May 13, in Odessa State Border Service jointly with the Counter Crimes Department related to trafficking, National Police apprehended the violator and based on the decision of Migration Service sent him to native country.

The Police staff of Crime Investigation Department connected with human traffic detained eight illegal migrants in two rent flats in Uzhgorod. The law enforcement agents arrived to specified place, where 8 illegal migrants from two foreign countries were detected in two flats of one building. None of them had any documents, they confessed in their illegal arrival to Ukraine in January of the current year. Illegal migrants were handed to Chop Border Detachment. Currently, the smugglers are searched out. Investigation commenced on this fact. The signs of criminal violation are established in the break as to Part 1 Article 332 of Crime Code of Ukraine (Illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine).
