Border guards of separate check point “Kyiv” detected a group of the citizens of Vietnam intending to get to Ukraine in illegal way. The border guards’ attention was paid by a group of passengers arrived from Moscow. Disregarding of frost, 7 men and 3 women were dressed in light clothes and shoes. During the interview with the travelers it was learned that they had arrived to Ukraine with tourist aim. However, they were unable to name neither the town they were travelling to nor the hotel, where they planned to stop. The travelers informed that as if they were already expected in Ukraine, thus, no answers on this point were given.

Because of inability to confirm the goal of the planned stay in Ukraine and absence of the return tickets, the Vietnam citizens were rejected in crossing the state border of Ukraine. So far, they were sent by a fly back.

As part of measures taken on counteraction to illegal migration, border guards of Chop Detachment received information about a big group of unknown persons arrived to the border area.

In the course of joint information processing, the staff of State Border Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Interior in Transcarpathian region detected 8 citizens of Afghanistan – five men, two women and a child – in the house of one of the border villages.

None of them had any documents and their appearance in the border area was explained as a wish to get to Europe.

When illegal migrants were detained in the house, law enforcement officers found one more citizen of Ukraine, a resident of the town of Uzhgorod, who rented this premise.

Most likely he will have to stand trial as to Article 332 of the Criminal Code (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine).

Detained migrants were taken to the subdivision, and their further destiny will be defined by the court.

In total for the current year, the border guards of Chop Detachment apprehended 175 migrants from Afghanistan.

Border guards of State Border Guard Service detected three violators intending to cross the state border by forged documents. Border guards of Kharkiv Detachment in the check point “Kharkiv-air” detained the citizen of Azerbaijan. It was established that he presented someone’s passport of the citizen of Uzbekistan for passport control also containing the false signs of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Two citizens of Moldova planned to cross the border with forged signs in the check point “Platonove” and “Mayaky”. The violators were stopped by the border guards of Kotovskyi and Belgorod-Dniprovskyi Detachments. The officers of MOI were informed on this point.

In total, in the course of the year 2014, more than 1100 persons were detected with false SBGS signs.

Lately, border guards of Chop Detachment apprehended the next “happiness seeker” for the attempt to cross the border illegally. When the alarm system went off some meters before Ukrainian-Slovakian border, border guards of BS “Velykyi Bereznyi” detained a man without any documents. “Tourist” stated that he was Syrian. According to words of the detainee it was established that he had lived and worked for some years in Luhansk region, then he decided to leave Ukraine and used the service Google maps to get to Norway.

Afterwards, the border guards managed to find out that this citizen was already detained in 2014 by the staff of Chop Detachment within Uzhgorod district for the same violation.

Aiming at clearing the circumstances of the violation and preparing administrative and procedural documents, the violator was delivered to Border Subdivision.

Detainee’s further destiny will be defined by the court.

The citizens of Ukraine transporting a big group of the citizens of Syria were apprehended in Transcarapathia by the border guards of BS “Kosyno” of Mukachevo Detachment together with the SSU officers.

Two minivans and a car were stopped for the check on the highway “Velyka Bigan – Kosyne” in the frames of the program on detection and counteraction to illegal migrants’ movement with application of preliminary operative information. There were 7 citizens of Syria inside the vehicles driven by Ukrainian citizens.

Later on, the staff of State Border Guard Service and Security Service of Ukraine in the town of Berehovo detained one more citizen of Ukraine probably concerned in this violation.

For establishing the situation all citizens of Ukraine were handed to SSU, the citizens of Syria were delivered to Detention Centre after preparing administrative protocols until the court decision.

According to data of UNHCR as of January 16, 2015, the number of internally displaced persons from Donbass and Crimea comprised 853 301 person. Of them about 3 thousand persons settled in Transcarapathia.

Traditionally, the most outflow of population is observed on the territory of Donetsk region, from where 303 172 persons left the occupied territory and Luhansk region, from where 90 000 persons departed from the area under control of Ukrainian militaries.

Temporary shelter in Kharkiv was found by about 107 350 displaced persons, in Kyiv and capital region – by almost 96 000 persons, 62 787 and 58 795 persons – in Zaporizhya and Dnepropetrovsk correspondingly.

UNO deputy of General Secretary Jeffry Feltman reports that due to data received from Ukrainian authorities, the quantity of internally displaced persons has increased up to 850 thousand persons, yet more than 600 thousand moved to the neighboring countries.

He made this statement on January 21, during the meeting of Security Council of UNO in New York.

«Situation goes on worsening in a result of conflict escalation. The country having no any IDPs a year ago now counts 850 thousand within the country, more than 600 thousand in the neighboring countries », – Feltman marked.

It will be recalled that according to the operative information as of January 12, 633 836 are resettled from the Crimea and areas of anti-terroristic operation to other regions of Ukraine.

The man without documents intending to get to Slovakia in illegal way was apprehended by the border guards of BS “Velykyi Bereznyi”. He left a kilometer and a half to reach the border. The ‘tourist” did not have any documents. He was Georgian by nationality. The migrant arrived to Ukraine legally.

For some time he lived and worked in Donetsk, and because of the complicated situation there he was forced to leave the region. Having no any opportunity to get the job in the capital, he decided to get to Austria through Transcarpathia.

The border guards took the violator to the border subdivision in order to clarify the circumstances of the infringement and prepare administrative and procedural documents.

His further destiny will be defined by the court.

Due to the skilled actions of the border guards, border detail detected and detained three foreign citizens attempting to cross the state border beyond the check point in the area of BS “Goronglab” of Mukachevo Detachment…

They were citizens of Syria and Iraq. Corresponding procedural documents were prepared concerning the detainees for violation of the Ukrainian legislation, their deportation is expected.

This information was reported the chief deputy of Border Control Staff Department of Mukachovo Border detachment, major Aleksey Fedorov.

In the course of the operative and investigation actions undertaken in Odesa, the staff of State Border Guard Service detained the citizen of Syria.

The citizen was apprehended on SSU’s order implementation and court resolution as a suspected person in organization of persons’ transportation through the border to the countries of Western Europe. So far, the Syrian is sent to the town of Mukachevo in order to apply preventive measures.

It will be recalled that the staff of SBGS detained one more Syrian in Kharkiv for organization of illegal transportation of four persons (Syrians) through the state border. The detainee was also delivered to Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region to define the punishment measure concerning his case.

While checking passenger’s documents departing from Lviv to Austria, border guards of Lviv Detachment detected the citizens intending to take the flight with forged documents. There was a replacement of the pages with constituent data detected in the documents of the citizens of Latvia. Soon, it was established that these were two Syrians attempting to depart to Vienna with forged documents. In order to clarify the details of the violation, the citizens were passed to SSU.
