Five citizens of Turkey were apprehended in the evening by the staff of State Border Guard Service and National Police in the course of information realization given by operative sub-department of Mukachevo Detachment.

The violators moving towards Hungary through the BS “Luzhanka” were detected by the law enforcement agents by means of night thermal imager. During detention one of the “travelers” intended to escape, however, military men stopped him at once. The men did not have any documents. Four of them introduced themselves as the citizens of Turkey, one – from Austria (previously native of Turkey).

Detainees were delivered to Border Department of BS “Luzhanka” in order to perform filtration and verification actions and prepare administrative-procedural documents.

Besides, border guards of Chop Detachment detected two persons traveling in the direction of Ukrainian-Slovakian border by means of portable thermal image complex. The violators were apprehended in the area of BS “Uzhgorod” when they intended to get over the fence. They were the citizen of Georgia and Ukrainian woman. Verification measures are undertaken with regard to the detainees.

Three citizens from Cote d’Ivoire arrived to the international airport Boryspil. The foreigners told they came to undergo competition selection to one of football clubs in Sumy. In the course of the verification activities it was established that they even have not played football in their country of origin, and also they do not orient in any issues on this point. The players had sportswear being not corresponding their sizes among their stuff. Besides, the “footballers’ were unable to explain the aim of their trip to Ukraine in the course of the interview. Thus, the staff of State Border Guard Service rejected the citizens of Cote d’Ivoir to enter Ukraine.

Two persons intending to get from Ukraine to Moldova beyond the check point in illegal way were detected in the course of the joint patrol of the Ukrainian border guards and members of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova.

The men were stopped 300 meters before the border area in Tarutinskiy district, Moldovian village Valya-Perjei. Now the violators – a citizen of Sri Lanka without documents and Ukrainian citizen are detained to ascertain all the circumstances. According to the foreigner’s words, someone promised to take him secretly to Moldova. He was assisted by the Ukrainian citizen – resident of the border village, who was detained together with the Sri Lanka citizen while trying to cross the border illegally. For his unsuccessful attempt illegal migrant had already paid over 5000 US dollars to the unknown persons. Currently, an investigation goes on. This is not the first result of productive cooperation between Ukrainian and Moldavian colleagues being performed under the aegis of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Ukraine and Moldova (EUBAM).

During the day, the staff of State Border Service officers detained one more illegal migrant. Being without documents, according to his words, the citizen of Gambia being discovered by the border guards of BS “Belz”, Lviv Detachment close the border on Poland. It was preliminary established that in Ukrainian Gambian arrived as a student in 2013.

Two passengers were not admitted to the flight “Kiev-Stockholm” by the border guards of Separate Check Point “Kiev” in the Boryspil Airport. In the course of passengers’ documents verification travelling by transit from Turkey to Sweden, border guards detected two forged documents. Two Syrians, 32-year man and 35-year woman, posing as the citizens of France, intended to use the forgeries. False documents were confiscated. The violators, also having their original passports of the citizens of Syria, were returned by a fly back.

As it was reported before, Transcarpathian border guards detained 13 illegal Afghans. Where were three families with children travelled to? And who profits from such smuggling illegal immigrants?
Atolla with Semira and their five children were detained by Transcarpathian border guards for the third time. The youngest son of the refugees – is eleven months. The oldest – is 13 years old. The family fled from Afghanistan because of the war.

“I am – an engineer and work was good, but my children could not go to school. We were forced to flee,” – Attola  explains.

He could not find any job in Ukraine. His family had been living at the railway station for two weeks. They had no money for housing. They hope to find “better life” in Europe. Thus, they repeat their attempts to get there. The same as the family of Massi. The first attempt failed when they intended to cross the border 5 years ago. Since that time they lived in Odessa.

“The business was poor, the house rent was high, we were unable to live there and made decision to go there and do something”- Massi tells.

The Afghanis decided to get to Europe by a group. They were apprehended 800 m before the border o Hungary. This group, also some other local residents were involved, was taken to the state border, where they just stayed for some period. They stayed outside Transcarpathian region in some building.” – the chief head of Mukachevo Border Detachment Sergey Melnyk reported.

All detainees are at Detention Centre in Mukachevo Detachment. They will be handed to Migration service after their identification.

Smuggling is a rather profitable business in Transcarpathia. The organizers may ask $12000 for one person. Usually money is supplied by relatives residing in Europe …

In the course of 11 months of the year 2015 1382 foreigners applied for political asylum in Czech Republic, comparing with the analogous period of 2014 – the number of applications is 425 more.

The citizens from Ukraine, Cuba and Syria are in the majority.

Ukrainians, applied 636 claims from January – end of November during the long term, comprise the greatest group of applicants, Cubans with 124 claims are on the second place, and Syrians have submitted 122 claims.

The asylum was granted to 70 migrants, status of subsidiary and temporary protection – yet to 372 persons. The last status is often issued to the citizens, whose applications on refugee status were not satisfied, however, in case of home return they were threatened with danger at the moment.

A big group of illegal migrants was apprehended by the staff of State Border Guard Service in Transcarpathia in a result of complex measures on counteraction to unlawful activity at the state border.

The violators were detected due to the received information from the representatives of Public Formations, who assist the border guards in the safeguarding the state border. They noticed unfamiliar persons in the border area, and passed information on this point immediately to the border guards.

Border detail of BS “Vilok” of Mukachevo Detachment, staying nearby, caught the violators some meters before Ukrainian-Hungarian border. In the course of inspection the travelers reported that all of them were from Afghanistan. They had no any documents. Altogether, 13 persons made their way to Hungary – 2 men, 3 women and 8 children.

It should be marked that three children were very small.

So far, Afghanis are delivered to Border Subdivision, where except establishing all circumstances of the infringement they were given to drink hot tea and rendered first medical aid. Besides, a circle of persons is under establishment, who are involved in their illegal transportation and dangerous “trip”.

It will be marked that organizers of illegal migration try to get rid of the migrants as soon as possible. Thus, they do not consider the warnings that similar trips in the mountainous locality may lead to death of migrants, especially little children.

The citizen of Georgia, intending to cross the border possessing Certificate on Permanent Residence in Ukraine, the validity term of which has expired already in September, was detected by the border guard of Lvov Detachment.

This man decided to “pay” and put 200 UAH to his foreign passport when crossing Ukrainian-Polish border in the check point “Rava-Russkaya”.

The fact of giving bribe was documented. Police was informed about violation signs detection, what is stipulated by Article 396 of Crime Code of Ukraine (offer, promise or providing improper advantage to an official).

Three citizens of Sri Lanka were apprehended in Transcarpathia by the border guards of Mukachevo Detachment together with the members of Public Formation in the area of responsibility of BS “Delove”. The travelers left 500 m to reach the border. They had no any documents, however, being introduced as the citizens of Sri Lanka.

Except these persons, the detail noticed two persons intending to escape. However, they failed to run – soon the men were detained. Probably, they were involved in smuggling illegal migrants and assisting their illegal trip. In the course of the investigation, it was established that runaways were Ukrainian citizens, one of them was the employee of State Border Guard Service.

Law enforcement agents have been informed on this point. Now, a statement on Article 2 Part 332 of Crime Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine) is enrolled into the Unified Register. Verification goes on.

It will be marked, that counteraction to illegal migration at the state border is performed in close cooperation of Border Department and Public Formations, which are actively involved into the security of the border. In particular, lately, border guards of Chop Detachment together with the public representatives apprehended 4 “happiness seekers” making their way to Slovakia. None of the detainees had any documents. Besides, illegal migrants become frozen much due to the weather conditions. One of the men was rendered medical aid because of frostbite.

Border guards of BS “Stuzhytsya” of Chop Border Detachment detained the next unhappy refugees escaping from hunger and war to the countries of European Union. Receiving information from a civil person about the group of unfamiliar persons moving towards the state border on Slovakia, border guards detected four unknown men. As usually, in these cases, detainees did not have any documents identifying them. They introduced as the citizens of Sri Lanka.

Considering the weather conditions and availability of snow, the representatives of the Southern Asia were frozen much. When they were delivered to the Border Department, one of the violators was rendered first medical aid due to the acquired frostbites. Now, the circumstances clarification goes on and administrative-procedural documents are prepared. Decision on responsibility before the law and their further destiny will be defined by the court.
