Border guards of Transcarpathian BD “Kosyno”, Mukachevo Detachment, detained two illegal migrants from Mongolia. Unfamiliar persons attempted to overcome the barrage fence, border detail detected them by means of thermal imagery device. Operation reaction group arrived  immediately to the place. Noticing border guards, strangers tried to run away, and law enforcers detained them in 200 meters before the border. Detainees were two men, introducing themselves as the citizens of Mongolia. The foreigners were delivered to Border Service Department “Kosyno” for drawing up administrative-procedural documents and establishing all circumstances of illegal trip of the foreigners. The further destiny of the travelers and evaluation of their actions will be performed by the court.

Tow citizen of Russia asked for refugee status in Ukraine in the automobile check point “Goptivka”, Kharkiv region. 47-year-old woman and 20-year-old daughter applied for refugee status granting during border control in the Kharkiv Detachment. These persons came from neighboring country on foot. In the course of the interview the woman reported about her Ukrainian origin and Ukrainian citizenship of her granddaughter. They were unable to e employed in Russia and were not provided with appropriate medical aid. Getting tired of constant harassments for ethnic belonging they were forced to ask for refugee status being afraid of their life and child’s life.  Upon drawing up required documents, the Russian citizens were delivered to State Migration Service in Kharkiv region.

Border guards of Chop Detachment prevented illegal cross of Turkey’s citizen in the check point “Uzhgorod”, who attempted to get to Slovakia having forged passport document. When checking documents of the passengers from the regular bus “Uzhgorod – Michalovce” border detail suspected the passport document validity being presented by the citizen of Turkey. As a result, in the course of extended check of the passport document the signs of partial forgery in protective symbols and pages with constituent data. So far, corresponding procedural documents were issues as to the violator, who was delivered to Temporary Detention Centre in Chop Detachment.

One more foreigner, citizen of Israel, intending to get to the flight “Kyiv – Tel Aviv”, was stopped by the border guards of Boryspil Airport. After document check it was established that the man had forged certificate for residence in Ukraine. In accordance with this fact, the border guards informed the representatives of National Police.

Border guards of Boryspil Airport did not let two citizens of Sri Lanka, who intended to cross the state border by forged documents. During the selective control in transit zone of the passengers from the flight “Colombo-Kyiv-Vienna” the staff of State Border Guard Service detected two citizens of Sri Lanka having false Italian ID-cards and residence permission in Germany.  The citizens were not passed through the border and in future it was planned to return them by the back flight.

The military men of SBGS together with SSU staff prevented an attempt to renew the smuggling channel through the state border of Ukraine. In the course of operation a joint inter-agency group detained two men and illegal migrant – citizen of one Transcaucasian countries, who was assisted in illegal trip to Ukraine beyond established check points. It was established that these persons were accomplices of the Russian man performing illegal transportation through the state border of Ukraine and was detained the other day by the border guards of Sumy Detachment and SSU staff in the direction between Russian populated area Prylissya and Turrya, Ukrainian one. Currently, pre-court investigation continues within the frames of criminal proceeding according to Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine) of Crime Code of Ukraine.

Since the passports of citizen of Ukraine have started to be issued in the form of ID-card it was prepared for 9.5 ths Transcarpathians. Passports for travelling abroad were received by more than 103.5 thousand countrymen, which is greater for 20 000 in comparison with the last year. This growth was accomplished by opening of new working stations on biometrical documents execution.

Nowadays, all districts, except Perechyn one, may prepare biometric passport for travelling abroad as well as ID-card.

There were considerations of 227 applications on Ukrainian citizenship granting and 888 departures for permanent place of residence in the far abroad. Hungary, Czech Republic, the USA and Israel are the most popular emigration places for Transcarpathian residents. Besides, 119 our fellow citizens returned home from abroad. At the same time, 1148 foreigners are registered in the Head Department with documented residence permit. The majority of them stays within the territory of Transcarpathia in connection with employment at the enterprises of the area and work in the religious organizations. 2460 immigrants live in the region permanently.

Border guards discovered a passenger with forged passport in the Boryspil Airport arrived from Athens. The woman provided the passport for travelling abroad of the RF citizen while checking in, which contained the signs of falsification. The passenger reported to be the citizen of Kyrgyzstan. In a result, the forged passport was confiscated and the woman got a ban to enter Ukraine for a period of 3 years. The passenger will be returned by a back flight to Greece.

It will be recalled that the border guards of Separate Check Point “Kyiv” discovered a false document in a passenger arrived from Stockholm. It was established that the woman presented partially forged passport for travelling abroad of the citizen of Lithuania. As it became clear she also had the passport of Ukrainian citizen. Protocol was prepared as to the violator in accordance with the Article 204-1 (Illegal cross of the state border of Ukraine). also notification about the violator was send to Police.

The family of illegal migrants from Syria and citizen of Turkey were detained by the border guards of BS “Shegeni”, Mostytskyi Detachment, close to Ukrainian-Polish border. In the morning the district inspector of Border Service together with the representative of Local Public Border Control Unit apprehended three citizens of Syria – a husband, wife and their minor son. Besides, close to the place of detention a trespasser from Turkey was revealed in some minutes. The border guards caught him when he got over the barrage fence at the border. Evidently, all detainees reckoned upon snowstorm not leaving the tracks to avoid the check point and reach neighboring Poland. The operative actions are also continued with regard to the persons identification probably involved in organization of their joint transportation over the border. Currently, the citizens are apprehended in administrative order aiming at their further identification and holding responsible for attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine.

One more traveler was detained by the border guards due to operative information in the distance of one kilometer before the border. as it was soon established the violator had passport for travelling abroad of the citizen of Algeria. Also, it was clarified that he had lived in Ukraine for a certain time as a student of capital’s educational establishment and had permission for temporary residence in Ukraine. The men confessed in his wish to find better destiny in one of EU countries. Protocol was issued for the “student” as to Article 204-1 of Administrative Infringement Code of Ukraine. Decision on making violators accountable will be made by the court in future.

Six illegal migrants were apprehended by the border guards of BS “Luzhanka”, Mukachevo Detachment, in Transcarpathia. The staff operative border subdivisions received information about strangers’ appearance in the area of Beregovo. Soon, the reaction group detected and detained 6 undocumented persons close to the border. Five of them were the citizens of Bangladesh, and one from India. Detainees were delivered to Border Subdivision, where protocols were issued as to the foreigners according to the Article 202 of Administrative Infringement Code of Ukraine (attempt to cross the state border). All detainees were of 18 to 27 years old. They reported to have intention to improve their living conditions in one EU countries.  Also, in the course of filtration measures it was established that on the New Year’s Eve these persons had already been detained in Transcarpathia for illegal cross of the state border. The case was passed to the court for making legal decisions as to the violators.

Citizen of Egypt intending to cross illegally the state border was stopped recently by the border guards of Mostytskyi Detachment. The members of a Public Association informed the border guards about the stranger’s appearance in the suburb of one of the border villages.

Upon arrival of reaction group it was revealed that detainee was a citizen of Egypt undocumented, 1996 year of birth. The man aimed to bypass the check point on foot trying to cross the border and reach neighboring Poland in illegal way. Currently, the person is detained in administrative order, in future he would be held accountable for attempt to break the state border of Ukraine.
