According to data published by Department of Migration Service of MOI, there are 125 citizens of Ukraine and 107 citizens of Iraq among those wishing to get refugee status in Czech Republic. Traditionally, Ukrainians make up the most numerous group of foreigners seeking to get asylum in Czech Republic.

However, in comparison with the previous year 83 persons less have submitted their applications this year. The increase of Iraqis is connected with Christians Resettlement Program, which Fund Generation-21 attempted to realize taking 89 Iraqi refugees to CR.

Also, the number of CNR citizens is increased, who have submitted in total 40 applications since the beginning of the year. There are about 10 and more persons – migrants from Vietnam, Syria, Afghanistan, Cuba – wish to achieve refugee status in CR.

The citizens of other countries are represented in the lists minimally. According to statistics of Ministry of Interior, 91 persons were granted refugee status in the course of January – March, and 80 persons were provided with subsidiary protection.

The authorities rejected in 228 cases and stopped the process of application verification. 681 petitions were under the consideration in the end of March.

Two citizens of Georgia attempting to cross the state border of Ukraine to Poland beyond the check point were detained by the border guards of Lvov Detachment in Volyn. The men were stopped by the border guards on the bank of the river the Western Bug. The travelers had document regarding which it was established that they were the citizens of Georgia. They took a rubber boat for travelling, some clothes and food reserve for several days. All this pointsout  that they planned it beforehand. Detainees were delivered to Border Department for infringement circumstances clarification. Their further destiny will be defined by the court.

Six illegal migrants from Vietnam were apprehended by border guards of Chop Detachment together with the Police officers in Transcarpathian region in the frames of active phase special operation “Border-2016”. Receiving information about possible stay of illegal migrants in one of hotels in the village of Onokovtsy, Uzhgorod district, the law enforcement agents immediately organized the check. As a result, the general detail of border guards and policemen detected 6 citizens of Vietnam – 4 men and 2 women. In the course of the interview detainees confessed in their intention to get to any of EU countries. These citizens were delivered to Temporary Detention Centre aiming to establish the circumstances of their stay within Ukraine. Filtration-verification measures go on.

In the course of 8 years Mukachevo Temporary Accommodation Facility accepts foreigners-refugees. About 1500 persons visited this place. Now, there are 42 persons from 14 countries of the world. They are from Afghanistan, Iran, Palestine, Serbia. “Those persons get here who apply for refugee status or persons in need of subsidiary protection. They are accommodated here on approval of Migration service. First, they are settled for 6 months. If the issue is not solved as to them, they continue their residing here. If they challenge a reject, they also stay here.” – the deputy director of TAF Peter Rosola tells. – “If our residents have refugee status we make them be employed, children attend the school as well as kindergarten. The UNHCR pays the studies. As there is war in Ukraine now, so the refugees ask “the third country”. Thus, Turk musicians moved to Sweden, Chinese – to the USA.

For the rest we form maximally attractive conditions for life. We have established the Refugee Council. It advises what national food stuff shall be purchased.

“From the times of Maidan’s I support Ukrainian nation – officially and in the social networks” – Serbian poetess Samanta Ratz-Stoulkovich says. Her daughters (twins) – Gloriya and Vicktoriya play near her. Her husband is at work. We have settled in the Centre since December of the last year. Pro-Russian people found me and threatened to be killed. Most people in Serbia support Russian side. I stayed at home closed, fearing to go outside. I was looking for help from different authorities, no one could assist me. One Ukrainian embassy reacted to my request. It gave me money to leave the country. I often asked why I moved to Ukraine, not to Germany – as with Serbian passport it is possible to go everywhere in Europe. The children have to attend the school, our language is similar to Ukrainian. There are many Rusins in our country – the girls know Serbian and Ukrainian, thus, it is not difficult for them to study. – Samanta tells.

We are meeting Lebanese Khusem in the corridor. He lives with his wife Safa. Their daughter was born a month ago. He was Muslim, but he changed his religion. Du to this fact many problems appeared with my family. We could even be beaten in the street. We had to leave the country. I like to be in Mukachevo. I plan to open a restaurant of national cuisine here.

More than 10 refugees started their own business in Mukachevo. They invite the residents of the Centre as employees.

At night border guards of Mukachevo Detachment detained the trespassers. Thus, at about 2 a.m. border guards of BS “Luzhanka” receiving information from local resident about the movement of unfamiliar persons towards the border started to the place immediately. Already in some minutes they detained two citizens without documents. They left 20 m to reach the border. The detainees reported to be the citizen of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Besides, during the inspection there was a package with white substance found in the stuff of the Bangladesh migrant.

Yet, four seekers of better life were apprehended by the border guards of BS “Kosyno”. Detainees were young spouse from Afghanistan. They had no any documents. The married couple took two children of two and three years old with them into the trip.

So far, all detainees are delivered to border subdivisions for drawing up procedural documents. In addition, measures are undertaken on searching and establishment of persons involved in organization of persons’ illegal .

Three illegal migrants were detained during the last day by the border guards of Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland nearby the state border in the course of joint actions conducted against illegal migration.

One of the violators was found in Transcarpathia in a result of information received from Slovakian colleagues. The border guards of neighboring country noticed unfamiliar person moving towards Slovakia by means of video surveillance devices and reported about this to border guards of Chop Detachment.

In a result of organized joint patrolling and continuous searches, the violator was revealed and detained close to the border. The man introduced as the citizen of Georgia, however no any documents he had.

Also, joint searches of illegal migrants and their possible crossing of the border at Ukrainian-Polish area of the state border were conducted. In the result of performed actions, there were 2 citizens of Russian – natives of Chechnya detained. The border guards of Mostytskyi Detachment also clarified that detainees arrived to Ukraine in accordance with established order.

Two citizens of Ukraine, who on preliminary data being involved in murder and physical abuse, were detained in the morning nearby the border by the border guards of Chop Detachment.

At about 5 a.m. the border detail performing the inspection of the state border stopped a man and woman without documents. Detainees were a married couple, citizens of Ukraine. During examination of their stuff three passport documents of the citizens of India and bloody kitchen knife were found in the bag of mentioned persons. The representatives of National Police were informed on this fact and it was established that detainees were suspected in murder commissioning of 2 citizens of India in Uzhgorod and infliction of serious bodily injuries to one more citizen. After drawing up corresponding documents detainees were handed to National Police. Further checking measures are conducted and circumstances are under establishment.

As it was reported before, on April 10 at about 4 a.m. local resident called to hot-line 102. The man told about founding two dead young men in the private house. The third boy was severely injured having knife wound.

A group of unfamiliar persons was detected at the border on Hungary. Eight illegal migrants were apprehended in the course of operative-searching actions in Transcarpathian region.

First, border guards of Mukachevo detachment caught 3 citizens of Sri Lank. They left 30 m to reach the border. In the course of further searching activities in the same direction the border guards detained two citizens of Sri Lanka. Soon, one more Afghani was found. Besides, afterwards the service dog took the border guards to the traces of two more Sri Lanka citizens.

All detainees were men having no any documents. One of them felt bad during the trip. The doctors called by the border guards revealed body dehydration after his examination. He was rendered medical aid, so far the patient’s state is satisfactory.
The “travelers” of the age 23-60 reported that they had to pay in average $3000 in order to get to EU countries. While approaching EU borders the smugglers separated them to small groups for increasing their chances to cross the border. However, they failed to embody their plan.

It will be marked that recently the cases of big groups splitting are often fixed trying to get over the Ukrainian border.

Now, the detainees are delivered to Border Subdivision for drawing procedural documents. Besides, the action on searching and identification of persons involved in illegal migrants’ trip go on.

In the course of joint actions with Slovakian law enforcement agents on counteraction to illegal migration with application of small flying apparatus Ukrainian border guards conducted a complex of operative-searching activities.

The channel of illegal migrants’ transportation and helicopter being most likely used for smuggling was detected during the joint international operation at Ukrainian-Slovakian border.

As a result, the border guards of Chop Detachment in cooperation with SSU staff discovered the sports helicopter and 3 persons – two pilots and local resident in the area of the village Poroshkovo at night. During detention of the violators the border guards had to make warning shots up as resistance was rendered.

It shall be marked that one of the pilot has already been detained by the staff of State Border Guard Service for the third time. Recently, he was apprehended as the plane pilot smuggling cigarettes.

So far, joint actions go on with EU border guards at the western area aiming at counteraction to use small aviation.

One of the passengers of the bus arriving to the Ukrainian-Hungarian border presented the document of the citizen of Korean Republic for passport control. Border inspector doubted in fictions nature of this document and he conducted a detailed examination of it using special means. During the check inspector detected some pages to be glued in from another passport. Besides, there were some forgeries in it.

Falsifying the passport the Korean citizen intended to cross the border, thus a corresponding protocol was drawn as to Article 204-1 of Administrative Code of Ukraine. Border guards informed Uzhhorod Department of Transcarpathian National Police on this fact and sent the statement to control the signs of criminal crime commitment stipulated by Part 4 Article 358 of Crime Code of Ukraine. Due to non-serious crime the Korean was not arrested by Police. Thus, he expects the Court on administrative violation in Ukraine.
