Another “seekers of better life” were detained last night by the border guards of Border Unit “Uzhhorod”, Chop Detachment.
The residents of the village Onokivtsi, Uzhhorod district informed the officers about the movement of unknown persons near the state border. Three Azerbaijani and one citizen of Bangladesh intended to cross the border beyond the checkpoints to get to Slovakia. Only one of the offenders had identifying document. However, all four foreigners confessed their intention to get to the EU with the purpose of illegal migration.
Currently, the border guards find out all circumstances of the crime and establish a circle of involved persons. The foreigners will be brought to the administrative responsibility under Part 2 Article 204-1 of AICU “Illegal cross or attempt to cross illegally the state border of Ukraine”.
Persons, involved in organization of the illegal trip for the undocumented foreigners, are wanted; however, the Police knows the circle of persons, who may be connected with this smuggling. The border guards informed the Police about the border cross by 14 illegal migrants. They were already stopped on another side of the border by Slovakian border guards. It had already been established that the violators got to the neighboring country through the border in Transcarpathia. The Slovakian Border Police detained the migrants. Currently, the issue is under consideration as their return in the frames of readmission to Ukraine, where they will be placed to the Temporary Holding Facility for the Migrants.
In the course of the border guards’ service the signs of human presence were noticed near the state border. The step track pointed to the fact that recently a group of persons walked this way.
At night, the officers of the BD “Palad-Komarivtsi””, Chop Detachment, stopped two attempts of crossing Ukrainian-Slovakian border. The border patrol, servicing close the populated area in Transcarpathian region, detected two unfamiliar persons by means of thermal imager. as the offenders were in a far way distance to reach them, the border guards had to inform their Slovakian colleagues. Due to operative cooperation, the law enforcers of both countries managed to stop two citizens of Pakistan in due time, who looking for better living conditions intended to get illegally to Europe. Soon, after some searches the border guards detained one more illegal migrant. The young man of Asian appearance walked in the direction of the border. The detainee had no any documents and introduced himself as a citizen of India. The offender was delivered to Border Guard Department to undergo filtration procedures and drawing up appropriate procedural documents. Detained Pakistani will be handed to Ukrainian side in order of readmission. Upon their identification the court will make decision on the destiny of three illegal migrants.
A great number of illegal migrants from Vietnam attempting to get illegally to Slovakia were detained at night by the border guards of Chop Detachment. The offenders were revealed after alarm system had been actuated. Reaction group of the BD “Onokivtsi” started to a place of possible illegal cross of the state border. The officers managed to stop the violators after overcoming the barrage fence. The detainees, being in composition of 12 men and 4 women, had no any documents and introduced themselves as the citizens of Vietnam. Illegal migrants were delivered to Border Subdivision in order to conduct filtration actions and draw up appropriate procedural documents. After their identification and establishing all circumstances they will be called to administrative responsibility.
