Verifying operative information by joint interagency group nearby the border in Novoselytskyi district three cars were stopped at night being driven by Ukrainians. It was established that there were 4 undocumented foreigners in each car. According to previous information the detained men were migrants from Bangladesh. The foreigners were delivered to the Border Unit in order to perform the filtration measures and identify persons. Three their smugglers are threatened with responsibility under Article 206-1 of the AICU (Illegal transportation of foreigners and stateless persons within the territory of Ukraine).
In order counteract illegal migration and violation of the stay rules by the foreigners within the territory of Ukraine a complex of practical events are planned in some regions of the country. Joint servicing of the border guards together with other interacting agencies are organized in the areas of possible unlawful actions.
The law enforcement officers continue to use a range of effective measures to counter illegal migration across the state border of Ukraine.
Border detail of the BD “Horonhlab”, Mukachevo Detachment, noticed a man, who with the help of the optical device observed the state border for border duties. During further operatively-search actions the border guards established that the observer was not lone at the border. As it turned out, two more men tried to get illegally to the neighboring Hungary. The border guards detained all three persons. Two of them had no any documents introoducing themselves as the citizen of Vietnam. The man who accompanied the foreigners had the passport of the citizen of Ukraine.
One more group of illegal migrants from Vietnam was detained nearby the border on Russia by the border guards of Kharkiv Detachment togather with the agents of the Eastern Regional Department of State Border Guard Service.
Persons, involved in organization of the illegal trip for the undocumented foreigners, are wanted; however, the Police knows the circle of persons, who may be connected with this smuggling. The border guards informed the Police about the border cross by 14 illegal migrants. They were already stopped on another side of the border by Slovakian border guards. It had already been established that the violators got to the neighboring country through the border in Transcarpathia. The Slovakian Border Police detained the migrants. Currently, the issue is under consideration as their return in the frames of readmission to Ukraine, where they will be placed to the Temporary Holding Facility for the Migrants.
In the course of 4 months of the operaton the staff of State Border Guard Service together with the representatives of other interacting agencies apprehended 175 illegal migrants, did not pass more than 1000 potential migrants through the state border and revealed more than 2 000 offenders of the state border and fronties regime.
When receiving information from the local residents about appearance of unknown persons, the border guards of Lviv Detachment stopped two cars for inspection in the suburb of the village Shabelna. There were 9 persons inside the vehicle, including also those of Asian appearance. After documents check the border guards established that 5 persons were the citizens of Ukraine and other persons had no any documents and were probably the migrants from other countries. One of them was the citizen of Bangladesh, who had the Certificate on appeal for protection in Ukraine, three other men introduced themselves as the citizens of Sri Lanka. All detainees were delivered to the Border Department for clarification of all circumstances of the infringement. Administrative-procedural documents were prepared as to the foreigners. So far, their participation in unlawful activities connected with illegal transportation of persons through the state border is under establishment.
The staff of BD “Nyzhankovychi”, Ukrainian-Polish border, detained three Iraqi citizens without documents. The law enforcers revealed the officers due to the available information received from local residents. As it was established the citizens arrived to Ukraine legally, but aimed to continue the journey to Europe in illegal way. The decision in the case concerning the attempts to cross illegally the state border of Ukraine will be made in the court.
The border guards of Sumy Detachment together with the operative-searching subdivisions of the State Border Guard service of Ukraine apprehended a group of illegal migrants from the South-Eastern Asia and Ukrainians transporting them.
