Information about possible attempt to violate the border on Slovakia was provided by the Operational Units of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service. Soon, the detail of the BU “Velykyi Bereznyi” identified the persons of Asian appearance, who were traveling towards the border. The offenders were detained 300 m before the state border nearby the village of Zabrid, Velykyi Bereznyi district. To stop illegal migrants, the officers had to get a warning shot on. The detainees, including four citizens of Afghanistan and one from Vietnam, were in the border area without any documents.
Another group of illegal migrants – two men and a woman without documents, were detained by the border guards of the BU “Syanki” guarding the part of the mountain area of the Ukrainian-Polish border. The foreigners were disclosed on the outskirts of one of the settlements. Consequently, it turned out that they were brought to the border by unidentified persons who, as if, should further facilitate their illegal travel to Western Europe.
All foreigners were detained in administrative order, the decision on the case concerning the attempt of illegal cross of the state border of Ukraine (committed by a group of persons) will be taken by the court. Currently, the measures on establishment of persons involved in the organization of transportation of illegal immigrants through border is under procedure.
During control and check actions the detail revealed the persons of non-Slavic appearance as passengers in the car except the driver. In the course of further inspection, the border guards found out that one of the passengers was a citizen of Guinea, another – citizen of Pakistan.
The foreigners were found during the inspection of the vehicle, which was moving to the border near the village of Zavosyne, Velykyi Bereznyi District. Both Azerbaijanis had only copies of their foreign passports. Ukrainian citizen, driving the car, was also detained.
The Operational Units of the Western Regional Department of SBGS informed the military personnel about the car with illegal immigrants going towards the border. Therefore, the Reaction Group “Salovka” of BU “Tysa” was immediately sent to the mentioned direction. It took just twenty minutes to find the offenders. They were detained 200 meters from the state border in the suburb of the village Esen, Uzhhorod district. One of the detainees introduced himself as Syrian, the other was found to have an expired passport of a Kuwaiti citizen. Subsequently it was succeeded to find out that illegal migrants were taken by the taxi driver from the city of Uzhhorod by car.
Four persons were detained in Transcarpathia and arrested for 3 days to identify them and clarify the circumstances of the offence.

At the control post “Uzhok” on the highway “Lviv-Uzhgorod” between Lviv and Transcarpathian regions, the border guards of the BU “Syanki” stopped to check the minibus “Renault”. The car was driven by the citizen of the Russian Federation born in 1992. There was also a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, born in 1985, who had documents, and seven citizens of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The foreigners did not have any passports and documents confirming the legality of their stay in Ukraine. Accordingly, they were detained administratively in order to clarify the circumstances.
Last night the border guards of the BU “Starokozache”, Belgorod-Dniester Detachment detected a group of undocumented persons at the checkpoint “Mayaky” near the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, while checking the car “Volkswagen” of Bulgarian registration.
Effective cooperation has been established in this direction with the border and law enforcement agencies of the neighbouring States, as well as international security institutions, in particular with the European border and coast guard Agency (FRONTEX) and the EU missions. It gives an opportunity to carry out joint special border operations, participate in joint activities under the coordination of FRONTEX Agency, jointly patrol the border with the EU and Moldova and extend joint control.
