The staff of State Border Guard Service together with the law enforcement agencies conduct the events on counteraction to illegal movement by the illegal migrants across the state border.
Thus, in the framework of the joint special border operation “BORDER-2018” and the target preventive measures “Migrant”, inter-agency group, consisting of operational staff of the State Border Guard Service, representatives of the National Police and the State Migration Service, on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” on the outskirts of the village Velyki Lazy in Transcarpathian region stopped the van “OPEL ZAFIRA” of Polish registration driven by the citizen of the Russian Federation, in which he was transporting 6 undocumented persons, who introduced themselves as the citizens of Afghanistan.
The detained persons were delivered to the Border Unit “Uzhhorod” aiming to conduct filtration and verification actions. During interview the foreigners reported about their plans on getting the EU countries beyond the check points.
The RF citizen was arrested under the Art. 208 of the Crime Code of Ukraine (Detention by an authorized official) by the representatives of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region.

In the coure of preventive operation “Migrant” the illegal migrants were apprehended by the representatives of the Department for Counteraction to Crimes associated with human trafficking together with the policemen of the Uzhhorod response units of Mukchevo Border Detachment and staff of the Migration Service nearby the village of Hluboke in the wood line. Five foreigners (21 to 50 years old) had no any documents. In addition, there was 35-year-old Ukrainian citizen in the car, who had been living in Ukraine for a long time. He is suspected in organization of illegal transportation. Police initated the criminal proceeding as to the fact of the offence. It is planned to transport them to Mukachevo Border Detachment. The investigation goes on.
Six migrants from India and Pakistan were found in the woods of Transcarpathia. The law enforcers revealed two illegal migrants of Asian appearance in the suburb of the village Glubokoe, who were without any documents. Soon, frour more persons from the eastern countries were detected. Five detainees introduced themselves as the citizens of India, and one from Pakistan. During verification actions the foreigners reported about the unknown smugglers, who demaned money from them for as if they had already delivered the migrants to Hungary. However, they foreigners were left in the woods. The searches of involved persons continue as well as the filtration actions. Also, it was managed to detain the Ukrainian, who was probable guide. He did not have documents too and was unable to explain his stay within the border area.
Three migrants from Vietnam were prevented to get to the EU in Transcarpathia. Information about a possible violation of the border was received by the operational staff of the Western regional department. The area was immediately deployed by the additional border guards.
As it is reported by the border guards, the foreigner planned to cross illegal the Ukrainian-Slovakian border.
At night, the officers of the BD “Palad-Komarivtsi””, Chop Detachment, stopped two attempts of crossing Ukrainian-Slovakian border. The border patrol, servicing close the populated area in Transcarpathian region, detected two unfamiliar persons by means of thermal imager. as the offenders were in a far way distance to reach them, the border guards had to inform their Slovakian colleagues. Due to operative cooperation, the law enforcers of both countries managed to stop two citizens of Pakistan in due time, who looking for better living conditions intended to get illegally to Europe. Soon, after some searches the border guards detained one more illegal migrant. The young man of Asian appearance walked in the direction of the border. The detainee had no any documents and introduced himself as a citizen of India. The offender was delivered to Border Guard Department to undergo filtration procedures and drawing up appropriate procedural documents. Detained Pakistani will be handed to Ukrainian side in order of readmission. Upon their identification the court will make decision on the destiny of three illegal migrants.
Sate border guard service of Ukraine continues counteracting the organized crime at the border. In order to prevent violations, all directions of the border are reinforced with reserves from the stocks of the detachments and regional departments, activity of operative and searching subdivisions is activated, cooperation with National Police and other law enforcers is arranged. Thus, processing received information about possible smuggling of the group of illegal migrants the border guards of Summy Detachment detained three trespassers. These were Pakistani citizens and two undocumented persons of Asian appearance being detained the border detail in the area of the international check point. Currently, the filtration actions are performed. The appropriate law enforcement agencies are informed on the case. The border guards do a complex of actions to identify the circle of persons involved in illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine.
A great number of illegal migrants from Vietnam attempting to get illegally to Slovakia were detained at night by the border guards of Chop Detachment. The offenders were revealed after alarm system had been actuated. Reaction group of the BD “Onokivtsi” started to a place of possible illegal cross of the state border. The officers managed to stop the violators after overcoming the barrage fence. The detainees, being in composition of 12 men and 4 women, had no any documents and introduced themselves as the citizens of Vietnam. Illegal migrants were delivered to Border Subdivision in order to conduct filtration actions and draw up appropriate procedural documents. After their identification and establishing all circumstances they will be called to administrative responsibility.
Two unknown persons were revealed nearby the border by the district inspector of Lviv Detachment. Aiming not to admit border violation, the reaction group started immediately to the place of the offenders’ possible stay. The unknown persons were walking through the woods towards the border; they were stopped in the suburb of the village Hrushiv. Detainees were delivered to the border division in order to perform verification action and identify the circumstances of the offence.
